A rather frightening story highlighting a family who was fooled by a 250 lb "family dog" that walked on hind legs and ate voraciously.  Now, in appropriate animal environment/ sanctuary (?), that can give the "bear' its needed treatment. Scary story for this rather timid canine/ feline fancier. My two dogs are 18 lbs and 28 lbs. They both walk on their back legs and are always up to date with vet appointments. C'mon people. We love our pets, but this is not 1934. Our house pets need regular vet checks. It seems unlikely that his adult animal was given regular treatment and no professionals recognized the family's pup was actually a bear. Not keeping up with vet checks can result in hazardous situations for the animal family and family members.  Let's be responsible pet lovers, or volunteer in a sanctuary. Just a thought - humane, I hope.
