JWLibrary JW Pub - Opening Links in Publications, Then Highlighting Them

Recommended Posts

Sr. Sophia, we have been promised this feature in the future.  As o now, however, we can't highlight in the "study pane" on the side.  About the only thing you can do is use your mouse (or form of selection) and copy the words to a word processing app or program.  If you need to highlight a portion of the Watchtower showing in the study pane, you can click on or select the reference at the top (which shows where the quote is from) and it will take you directly to that magazine or book.  You can highlight that material, but when you go back to the original article it will not carry the highlighting back with you.  So when you were in the meeting and wanted to see the notes, you would have to stop and do it again.  The highlights or notes you made would still be there.

This feature is coming, someday.

Is there something I can do to make a highlight or note in this opened pane?

Short explanation: You can download that publication, and then you will be able to highlight it (but not in the study panel).

Long explanation: When you download a publication in JWTalk, it contains all quotations from other references in a plain text format. That's what you see in the study panel. When you click on a reference, the app first tries to see if you have that publication downloaded and then opens it. If you don't have it, then it will show the plain vanilla text.

So if there's a reference to a Watchtower from 2017, you just need to download that magazine and you will able to highlight and type notes. But not in the study panel. :)
