A national dengue epidemic has been declared in the Philippines, where 622 people have died of the mosquito-borne disease since January and millions more are at risk.

From the start of the year to July 20, there have been more than 146,000 cases recorded -- a 98% increase from the same time period last year, according to the country's Department of Health.
Dengue causes flu-like symptoms, including piercing headaches, muscle and joint pains, fever and full body rashes. Of the millions of people infected every year worldwide, an estimated 500,000 develop severe symptoms requiring hospitalization, and of those some 12,500 people die, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Philippines had declared a national dengue alert just last month after reporting more than 450 deaths -- but officials had said the dengue was "localized," according to CNN affiliate CNN Philippines.
With almost two hundred additional deaths in the past month, the crisis has now escalated to a national epidemic.

many of our bro and sis here have already affected of dengue.. Good thing most of them don't die if its diagnosed early.... No cure of dengue..

American couple who were missionary here contracted dengue.

If its left unchecked, you would die in internal bleeding....

If you had it, you would be in bed for 2 weeks.. Drinking water is the only cure..

If you had it twice, there's a probability that you would die.

Past and current governments dont do their best to fight against dengue.... ☹️

Most of big cities are dirty.. full of cockroaches and rats... In contrast , with bro and sis  always clean Khall once a week and after meeting.. .

Worldly people are like the government who don't care about the environment....

You are right sis. Worldly people and the Government don't care about the don't care about the environment. The cockroaches and rats has more for the environment then them. They are there to clean the mess they made. They spread diseases because it to many of them in one location. What we can't image is that  what diseases they are preventing us of having with all they mess that people are doing.
