Masterful reasoning from the Scriptures from our brother. You can tell whom we have as our great teacher.

Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the outspokenness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and ordinary men, they were astonished. And they began to realize that they had been with Jesus.

The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the true God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole obligation of man. Ec 12:13

What really impressed me was the point about Enoch. Usually when people who read about him say what happened to him, they will say that he went to heaven. I would usually point to Jesus words in John 3:13 about no one ascended to heaven except Jesus.  But this scholarly brother pointed to another more straightforward scripture in Hebrews 11:13:

In faith all of these died, although they did not receive the fulfillment of the promises; but they saw them from a distance and welcomed them and publicly declared that they were strangers and temporary residents in the land.

This scripture shows that not only did Enoch definitely die (since he was directly mentioned in verse 5), but that he did not receive the fulfillment of the promises.  This would include the earthly resurrection promise, which most Jews acknowledged, but also the heavenly promise that Jesus promised the anointed.

That is soo clear.
