Paypal Will Charge Inactive Customers

From December 16 this year, PayPal will apply the charge to customers accounts that have been "inactive' for 12 consecutive months.

 

If your account has been inactive for over 12 months, you'll be charged the lesser of £12 or your entire PayPal balance.

 

For example, if there's £3 in the inactive account, the fee will be £3. If there's £20 in the account, £12 will be taken.

 

If you don't have any money in your PayPal account, or your balance is negative, you won't be charged a fee even if you have a debit or credit card linked to the account.

I actually deleted my account when I saw this. Pretty greedy move.

So in the US, no fee if PayPal account is linked to a bank account! 🤑

Well, only if your paypal balance is at zero.

On the other hand, you can avoid being inactive just logging in once a year. It doesn't seem too much to ask.

 

It seems they just want to get rid of people who signed up with them but no longer use the site. We do the same here from time to time (but we don't charge anything).

Me too. I can't remeber my email or my passowrd it's been so long. That being said - it was only connected with a debit card that is now no longer valid.
