JW Library app on iPad - streaming issues

Recommended Posts

Hello,

does anybody else have issues with skipping ahead on a streamed file playing in the JW Library app ( as opposed to one that’s been downloaded on to the tablet  )

for example, I’m trying to skip ahead to a talk about 30 mins in on the 145th Gilead … and when I pull the marker ahead it won’t click in and start playing.

Can only seem to skip ahead when the whole big file is downloaded on to my device.

anyone else experience this?

Thank you! 🙏

Also, I noticed it seems that this problem only happens on larger files.. an hour or more in length

For reference...I just tried the 145th Gilead stream on my Windows PC desktop, my Apple Ipad Pro and my Iphone Xs.  They all streamed OK and the selection button at the bottom of the screen allowed me to drag the location to any part of the 1 hour 11 minute program.

Just for reference.  I did not try my Android  device.

Thank you kindly for checking! May just be this particular device

I can always jump over to the file hosted on jw.org as that seems to work fine.

thx again!

How do you like your iPad Pro? Which year and size?

My wife and I have similar Ipad Pro devices. the only difference is mine is 512 Gb storage and hers is 256. This model was first released in 2017 but we got ours as Apple refurbished units in 2019.  These are 10.5 inch screens...model FPGK2LL/A.

It is quite usable, fast and dependable.  It runs our organizations material (apps, etc) well.  It works with Zoom but is limited in some of the features that I expect on my Windows 10 machine.

How do I like it?  I do not like Apple products or Apple Operating Systems.  I am not an Apple fan of any kind.  I use my Ipad and Iphone because they work and accomplish things I need done.  Most publishers in our area are Apple oriented.  To get my text messages, and publisher interactions to work reliably, I had to join them.  Our organization told the elders that we would need to rely on text messaging so I got the device that worked best for that, here in the rurals.

I am a Windows (formerly DOS) person.  I have a Windows laptop for Watchtower CAD.  I have two Windows desktop computers and I usually have a Windows tablet around somewhere.  So I don't like my Ipad....sorry, but you touched a sore spot...🙂
