Links to JW Library articles

I have my student who attends the meetings but is still not too familiar with JW Library. He asks me every week what we are going to consider in that meeting and I tell him to open the app, go to Meetings, then to Watchtower Study and he has the article there.

 

From time to time @Thesauron posts a link to an article that will be open in JW Library if installed in that device. How can I generate one of those links that will open that article directly on JW Library? If I use the Share option inside JW Library will the link created be like that?

You can generate the link from the website or JWL. If he already has the WT downloaded on JWL, it will open in JWL. If it's not downloaded, it will prompt him with an option to download it.

It is true that the share option in JW Library will generate a link that can be opened in the JW Library app. Also, the share option on JW.org and wol.JW.org will produce a similar link. What they have in common is that they use the finder function.

Regardless of whether you use “Share Link” within the JW Library app or not, if the device supports it, the JW Library app will be able to open the link in the app.

 

Even if you use “Share” button on jw.org website and/or WOL, you can open it in JW Library.

The links can open in my Android device but it doesn't give me the option in Windows 10.

That”a true. There might some setting somewhere, but this is a feature mainly for tablets, I believe.

This feature was working great (win 11) but just today those links that DID open in JW Library are now opening the website. JWL is definitely installed and working fine - any idea how I can restore the functionality to open links in the app?
