In the UK, food availabililty in stores has been dwindling due to COVID. More and more workers, farmers, drivers, etc, have been ill or infected/have had to distance, and therefore cannot work, this has resulted in lack of food stocks across the country in one way or another.

The country is facing a summer of food shortages likened to a series of “rolling power cuts” because of a loss of 100,000 lorry drivers due to Covid and Brexit, industry chiefs have warned.

In a letter to Boris Johnson they have called for an urgent intervention to allow eastern European drivers back into the country on special visas, similar to those issued to farm pickers, warning that there is a “crisis” in the supply chain.

They have said shortages of workers in warehouses and food processing centres are also having an impact with packing food for supermarket shelves.

Families warned food shortages in UK ‘inevitable’ this summer due to lack of staff

Driver shortages have been compounded by shortfalls across other low-paid sectors including harvesting, manufacturing and packaging, and the supply chain is cracking under the pressure

Talk about food shortages and pestilences. All these signs really are composite these days.

Sad, not only for UK but once something like this starts it usually spreads  to other countries, because we are all so interconnected, and especially when the cause is already a global problem. . . .

One small crack doesn't mean you are broken; it means that you were put to the test and didn't fall apart..
