As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens his friend.—Prov. 27:17.

When we work alongside fellow believers and observe firsthand their endearing qualities, we learn from them and draw closer to them. For example, how do you feel when you are in the ministry and you hear your friend boldly defend his faith or speak with heartfelt conviction about Jehovah and his purposes? Likely you feel drawn to him even more. Adeline, a 23-year-old sister, asked one of her friends, Candice, to go with her to preach in seldom-worked territory. “We wanted to be more motivated and to enjoy the ministry more,” she says. “We both needed a spiritual boost.” How did they benefit from working together? “At the end of each day,” says Adeline, “we discussed how we felt, what touched us about the conversations we had, and how we sensed Jehovah’s direction in our ministry. We both enjoyed these deep discussions and got to know each other even better.” w19.11 5 ¶10-11

Iron sharpens iron

Ok, we're all iron implements in God's tool box. A great analogy there. We need one another to remain sharp. An implement is of no use if it is left blunt. It doesn't serve the purpose for which it is crafted. Moreover if left unused it will just rust and be thrown away.

So let's all us great and small, help to build relationship with one another, in what ever way we can to stay connected and be mindful that every word, every gesture of ours brings joy to those we interact with.

I have been looking into reading one of E.M. Forrester books. In 'the Remains of the Day', where he wrote the catchphrase "Only Connected", emphasizing his belief in the essential need for human relationships. In this overly mechanized world ,we have become like robots connected to our machines. Our phones, gadgets seems to be like an extension of ourselves. Even in the early 1900's the famous author had been lamenting the lack of human interconnectedness due to the then rapid industrialization of the nation.
