When you download our magazines in PDF format you can see the date on the back cover. Yet the most recent Watchtower for the public is dated May/June 2022. Shouldn't the first issue be dated January/February? One possible explanation MIGHT be that an older magazine will be reprinted as the January/February issue.

The elders received instructions last July (2021) as to how this would work.  Why our organization never saw fit to share this information with our general public, I don't know.  But you are correct.  January and February (which we are now in) were to use the #3 Watchtower from 2018.  the next two months will be another back issue. May and June will have the new Public Watchtower.  The whole year has been laid out.

Ask one of your local elders for help requesting the correct issues.

I noticed that too, and wondered the same thing. Inside the front cover of that Watchtower, it has the date May/June 2022. That explains the file name of wp_E_202205.pdf. However the information John supplies above explains a lot more. I'm still not clear on why we didn't get the #3 Watchtower from 2018 now, and the May/June issue later.
