Tuesday, March 15

Let each one examine his own actions, . . . and not in comparison with the other person.—Gal. 6:4.

If we follow the apostle Paul’s inspired counsel and examine our own actions, we may begin to see that we have unique gifts and abilities. For example, an elder may not be a gifted teacher when on the platform, but he may be very effective in the disciple-making work. Or he may not be as well-organized as some other elders in his congregation, but he might be well-known as a loving shepherd whom publishers feel free to approach for sound Scriptural advice. Or he might have a fine reputation for being hospitable. (Heb. 13:2, 16) When we clearly see our own strengths and gifts, we will have reason to feel good about what we can contribute to the congregation. And we will be less likely to envy our brothers who have gifts that are different from ours. No matter what place we have in the congregation, all of us should desire to improve in our service and develop our abilities. w20.08 24 ¶16-18

You can't walk with God while holding hands with the Devil.

Remember in the old days when we would refer to Br. Rigid and Sis. Tardy?

You are our dear Br. Pun.

Jer 29:11-“For I well know the thoughts I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 56:3-“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Romans 8:38-”For I am convinced...”

Fitting illustration not mine:

"Everyone in the Truth starts at different levels, carrying a different burden, moving at different speeds. Comparing with others can only add to the load; it can't add speed. The important thing is to start the race, pace ourselves, and keep running regardless of what others do."

What would life be like if we were all the same? If each of us had the same abilities and qualities and strengths and weaknesses?  What would life be like? I don't think it would be very pleasant to be compared with someone else when you don't measure up. How loving and wise Jehovah is for making us all unique and different and telling us not to compare ourselves with anyone else. How good of us not to compare one Elder with an other Elder. We may at times wonder what makes a brother a good Elder but Jehovah knows what each one has to offer in his service and all to his praise and glory.

The one showing favor to the lowly is lending to Jehovah

I will point out one.  I was just thinking of you today (let me explain that further... lol).  I was recalling the night before my Baptism; I had been praying to Jehovah about my anxiety and asking for His help.   Later, I was on the boards that night and I was still soooo nervous about the next day.  I was posting in a thread with you and some others, which I think was no coincidence as I look back.     I was laughing so hard at the posts that I completely lost all my anxiety and had a great night's sleep before my Baptism.  You were truly a gift to me that night my dear brother. :)
