In 2021, a Belgium Court condemned disfellowshipping and especially the teaching of avoiding contact with ones who left. They said it was discriminatory and incited to hatred and violence. The brothers had to pay 96000 euro.

Ofcourse they appealed and were acquitted for every single issue brought up by the lower court and the Federal office against discrimination.

Belgium had their chance to get to know Jehovah's Witnesses. Back in 2016, Witnesses and others present Belgium government information on Jehovah's Witnesses ( I had a role in this behind doors). Basically, they reject this and in the past couple of years, they made a mule out of  themselves and now they paying the price.
