Ended up in hospital today.

Been feeling a bit 'off-colour' with stomach cramps.

I thought (maybe I was hoping) it would sort itself out and go away. But at 2am the pain was intense. I thought it was an appendix attack, but the pain was in the wrong spot. Instead of being bottom right, it was top left where my stomach is. It felt as if I had over-eaten, but real, real bad.

I had heard that sometimes an appendix attack can give pain responses in weird places, so I went to the Emergency Dept at 5am.

Long story short, it was a referred pain from a clot in the 'Portal Vein' near the liver. (I didn't even know I had a 'Portal Vein'!)

Not sure why I have the clot, so there will be follow-up consults once the current situation is resolved. They said it's a big one. I don't know how that affects my treatment. The examing doc said he'd never come across one before.

If your interested, below is some info on it. I had none of the 'typical' symptoms, so top marks to the ED staff for their expertise in finding this.

So I'm not sure when they will let me go home. That probably will depend on how well I go with the blood thinners.

At least I have a room with a view!

Tony, it really stinks that you have to live under such a health cloud. You have been a faithful brother for a long time. You have a good reputation with Jehovah, the wisest thing you could have done. You are a good example for all of us. We only have one life to live, and unfortunately in this system, our life is very fragile. But no matter what happens, we know Jehovah is a God of the living. For we are all living to him, and what a comfort that is. 🌹

Since we are talking about this, I had a friend ended up in the hospital the other day ago. The first thing was on their mind was a blood transfusion. He did not lose no blood. They blood happy.

I am so glad they found where his blood ran off to ! Dr's probably not happy - they wanted to charge for an extra quart !

Something a very dear sister said before she died was this: 

"The most time any of us will spend in this system is our lifetime" 

 

Whether we live long or it's cut short ... the real life is ahead of us ... I remember looking at my mum ... (she was in deep deep sleep) and thinking ... the next thing she will hear is Jesus telling her to 'come out.' 

 

How exciting is that? If any of us have to enter the New World via the back door ... then that thought is a real gem. I wish you well and love and prayers go to you and your loved ones.

I saw this and I validated it too, after finding out about Brother Tony by scrolling through the comments. Perhaps the brother said the same thing as me: two years later, brother Tony still has a great presence on the forum so all your prayers, also two years old, have finally touched the goodness of Jehovah who has allowed our brother to get back on track. It made me feel good to read your love.
