Snake Bite Protection

Recommended Posts

I am planning some bush adventures, and in the past I had Tiger snake 🐍 close encounter.

So I am trying to protect myself, and looking for options.

Now, have you ever used those? Do they really offer protection?

We hike here in AZ a few times per week. I am always on the lookout for snakes.  Here is a link to a AZ hiking forum, and snake gaiters were the discussed topic.  You might find it interesting.

well, the link won’t post. 🤷‍♀️  The address is hikearizona.com.  In the upper right side, tap “connect”  Then tap “outdoor related”,

then tap “gear”.  Do a search for snake gaiters.  There is a 4 page discussion.  I hope that helps.

I spent many summers with my grandma , we walked everywhere and it was a snake filled area so my grandma always brought her hoe, just to toss them out of the way.

I love seeing snakes when I'm hiking!!!

One day my son and I found 11 snakes when we went snake hunting. He kept one snake for 2 weeks in his room.

I have a special affection for them and can't wait til we're all friends with them again in the paradise !

You might want to practice this old song

I revised it a little...:D

*** Song 106 Let’s Watch How We Walk ***
Let’s watch how we walk and watch how we talk
That thus we may be alert and wise,
Buying out the opportune time,
Avoiding snake bites.
Yes, watch how we walk and watch how we talk
That thus we may be alert and wise.
