JW Library older apk

Recommended Posts

As anyone knows how to get an older version jwlibrary (apk file)?

A sister as asked me to install jwlibrary on her tablet that someone gave her, but it can't install the normal way because the andoid version is too old (4.2)

Since what she really wants is the bible any other old version (compatible with android version) will do

Thanks

When you find the APK file that works for you, you may find difficulty downloading the Bible.  When I did it for a 4.4 Kit kat Android version, I had to go to the JW.ORG, to the Library tab, select Bibles and click on the download for the 2013 edition.  It asked me where to open it and I said "JW Library" app and it did.  But I could not get any of the audio or video references to download.  And if an update occurred on someone's ones tablet, it would not let me have it.  The only way to get it was to delete the current version, go back and download a new version fro0m JW.ORG.  Just thought I would share my experience.

I started trying APKPURE that I used before but jwlibrary wasn't available there and didn't search other alternatives

I have this same issue. If I'm correct, the package needs to be saved on an SD card and installed from there.

I'd like to use my venerable Galaxy Note 8 tablet just for J-dub Library, if possible.

(Edit: KitKat [4.4] is the latest Android version I can use on this device)

Here is the Headquarters definition of "acceptable" OS with which to run our JW Library.  As  stated above (in my September posting), you might be able to get an older APK to load and install.  But it will not run everything in the Library and it quite possible will not install a publication.  My version 4.4 KitKat system would allow the JW Library to open but when you wanted a bible, book or any publication... it would not download or install it.  I could go to JW.ORG and go to the Library and find the publication. select it, choose "download" and it would install it.  One book, one time.  If I wanted another book, I had to repeat the process for every publication.  It there was an update, I had to erase the publication and go back to JW.ORG and start over again.

Android 4.2 was  from 2011 which is 2 years older than our Bible.  I used to tell people that "computer years" were like what we used to call "dog years".  Dogs were described as aging 1 year for every 7 human years.  So a 7 year old dog was like a 49 year old human.  In computers it is 10 to 1.  So a 12 year old operating system (2011) is like a 120 year old human.  You just cant expect much in the way of out put.

JW Library is compatible with devices that run one of the following operating systems:

Android 7.0 or later

iOS 15.0 or later

macOS with M1 or newer chip

Windows 10 Version 1903 or later

To keep JW Library secure and reliable, at times it is necessary to raise the minimum requirements to run the app. Therefore, we recommend that you keep the operating system on your device up-to-date. If you cannot update your device to the minimum version required, the app may still run but it will not have the latest features.
