Let's name the planets!

Recommended Posts

I know it's not exactly on the subject of renaming the planets, but if we rename the planets because they were named after false gods, do you think we'll need to rename some of our children? I have a son named Apollo and Orion and Phoenix. I also have a daughter named Valentine and there's a religious holiday that shares her name. I know many who are called Diana. Do you think Jehovah will rename all the people as well?

Maybe Jehovah will rename us, like he did Jacob. I would love that, to carry a name decided by Jehovah himself. I have no basis for this belief/desire, just my little daydream. He gives names to stars, and they are certainly very interesting names, he can give some to his servants.

(Amos 5:26) Now you will have to carry away Sakʹkuth your king and Kaiʹwan, Your images, the star of your god, whom you made for yourselves
(Kaiʹwan).
Apparently a star-god, as indicated by the fact that the name Kaiwan is put in a parallelism with “the star of your god.” (Am 5:26) Evidently the Akkadian star kaimanu or kaiwanu is meant, since this occurs in Akkadian inscriptions as the name of Saturn (a star-god). In the Masoretic text the name was intentionally vowel pointed to correspond with the Hebrew word shiq·qutsʹ (disgusting thing). In the Greek Septuagint, “Kaiwan” is rendered Rhai·phanʹ, presumably the Egyptian designation for Saturn; and in Stephen’s quotation, at Acts 7:43, Rhom·phaʹ appears in the Westcott and Hort Greek text.

Man was created as an intelligent creature with the desire to explore and understand :)
