Has it ever been assigned to that other congregation? Or is it just random?

We have never assigned any of our territories to another congregation. Our brothers have just recently installed NWS version 7.8 #1399 and hope that this bug was fixed. We will closely monitor our territories and post here if the problem reoccurs.

We noted an issue with the latest NW Publisher update and I didn't notice this on this thread already.

The app goes right to the extreme bottom of the screen on the Publisher app, this ends up with some buttons extremely difficult to press, like the Territory Completed or the very last address in individual territories.

This is seen in Android devices and is worse when they have the individual navigation buttons, but even gesture navigation gets in the way... Have I missed this issue in this thread?

What I noticed too is that in JW Library when you scroll up the nav and menu items autohide. Seems like this could be a feature that would be easy to implement in NWP.

Issue with Public Talk Not Showing for Language Group in NW App

Has anyone experienced this? Our language group works fine for the midweek meeting — everything shows up correctly in the NW app. Also, the host congregation’s schedule is working perfectly.

However, for the weekend meeting, we can’t get the chairman, speaker, or any assignments to show in the NW app for the language group. We’ve tried everything we can think of: renaming the group, reassigning roles, updating the schedule — nothing works.

The midweek meeting shows up fine, but the weekend meeting is the problem.

We suspect it might be related to how the public talk for the language group is linked (or not linked) to the host congregation’s schedule. Has anyone faced this and found a fix?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Can someone explain to me how the files are 'sync'd' between devices?

I received an automated email requesting 2 'reports' are needed. I send this to my assistant. He sends me a screenshot (iphone) showing all reports are in. I check my phone (Android), 2× are still missing. I check my laptop (Win 11), 2 reports are still missing from March.

How can the devices not be in sync?

Don't they feed from the same data file. If the 2× reports were posted, and logged on my assistant's iphone, wouldn't all data show this on all devices?

(Actually, as I  type this I wonder if someone did a 'restore'. Then it would roll back - but it doesn't explain why the iphone is out of sync...)

This issue is fixed with update #1400 and for the app: 3.7.12 #306. Change the name of the Language group and then rename it again. Send App data. This should fix the problem.

Thank you so much.  I am an admin and have fixed many things over the last couple of years but this one had me stumped.  I tried everything I could think of including changing a part on the weekend meeting and changing it back but nothing worked.  The assignments were simply not showing up on NWP for our language group for either the weekend or midweek meeting.  Your 2 minute fix restored everything and no data was lost.  I, and our dear language group are very grateful!

Is there a way to print the territory from the app?

One approach that would work for SOME maps - depends on size of territory and whether the addresses are identified. Enlarge (zoom) the territory to fit the screen of your phone. Take a screenshot, and print that. Of course, if you have NWP on your tablet, you can get an even better (larger) image to print.

A second approach: a brother using NW Scheduler could capture an even larger, more detailed image of the map, and print that for you.

I'm new to using program for public talks.

On incoming speakers I have accepted requests and responded but on the incoming

speakers page it still shows in orange awaiting your response as if I still needed to do it?

Also on the outgoing talks page it shows the outgoing speaker in blue not green?

Any tips are appreciated.

My husband is old school and prefers paper.

Certainly friends have the right to use physical media for their maps, Bibles, publications, etc. The only caution I would have you consider is that by choosing to use physical media, it will be much harder to have the latest updates. The way our congregation uses the territory function is the friends are making houses of as they work them and this serves to keep our maps up-to-date in real-time. This allows more efficient and thorough coverage of our maps. Of course, your congregation may not be using this function but it is something to consider.

Our congregation uses Territory Helper and I always print each territory I receive. I mark off the homes if we find someone at home and write letters to the ones we don't find at home. When we go DTD, It is a lot easier for me to show the map to the group so everyone knows where we are parking, which streets to do and which homes have been done. I love using a paper copy of the territory. I discard it when I turn in the territory.

Other than the previously mentioned screenshots, no.

You can definitely ask your territory servant to send you a printable version, the main program has all sorts of options for printing maps, addresses etc., I do that for a few of the brothers and sisters in my congregation, especially ones with older phones, no data or the paper preferrers.

Then they just update in the app what they covered when they get home, or have someone else do it for them (we use the assign to Congregation feature so anyone is able to mark not at homes etc.).

Greeting friends! Brian from the US-PNW here. Love the Scheduler program and Publisher app!

We have just recently migrated our territories to NW Scheduler. Going well for the most part and nearly ready to fully implement. We have been using some of the publishers to beta-test and have found a couple of issues:

1. A publisher is able to see a Personal territory that has been assigned to her. She is able to open the territory, but when she backs out the territory (not the app), the territory disappears from her app. It still shows the territory as assigned to her, just not visible at all on her app, while still showing as assigned to her. This is true for all territories assigned to her. If I delete the assignment record or mark complete and re-assign the territory it will show up on her app, then disappear after opening and exiting the territory. We have made sure her iPhone is full updated. We have had her disconnect and reconnect, even deleting the app and reinstalling all to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Kind regards,

Brian

That's very weird Bounder. Hopefully someone on here has an idea what the issue might be and can help you resolve it. We've been using the territory function for nearly as long as it's been out and I've never had any of the bro/sis have this issue. Not to say your sister isn't having these issues, only to reinforce that it's an uncommon issue from my experience.

[DeepL translation]

Good day, dear brothers! Yesterday I installed the nwpublisher application on my Macbook on M1 processor. But I am only logged in as a user, without the ability to make changes, since I am a service warden, I need to make changes to some meetings. How can i do this? I can't find the congregation sharing password tab. Thanks in advance.

Maksim, welcome to JWTalk!

There is a Windows application called NW Scheduler, which the elders use to enter all schedules and data. You’ll need to install this program. One or more elders in your congregation should be administrators. One of them must grant you access, and provide you with the necessary password and PIN.

NW Publisher is a mobile app that only allows you to view the schedules created in NW Scheduler. You cannot make any changes using it.

a more appropriate translation tells me he is the service overseas so he is an elder

hi all.

I look after maintenance in my KH,  - most of the jobcards in the maintenance box are monthly or longer which works fine with the maintenance system in NW scheduler.

but one jobcard - the fire safety one - requires the fire alarm to be tested weekly.

but i cant figure out a way for that to be shown - the nearest i can get is a monthly card/notification with 4 names listed.

i want the group doing hall cleaning to be responsible for testing it but as it keeps being forgotten i would like an additional weekly reminder.

any thoughts on a way to do it?

( i did put in a feature request to the developers ages ago)

thanks for an input.
