Close the app and reopen it. Then it works fine again.

It's highly likely the release of NWS Desktop and NW Mobile is tomorrow.

I was able to download the app and open it, but once I try to enter our congregation pin, it shows error and won’t connect. Any ideas?

I have same issue as Shawnster, after upgrading to NWS 8.0 #1424 ... empty Chairman and WT Reader lists, though they are all still selected under Assign in the Persons pages.

Did you guys do the shared persons backup before you did the backup? If so, you should be able to import that backup and everything you had scheduled should pop back up.

Sorry, I meant, did you do the backup before you did the major update?

I updated and it shows an error that my congregation is not listed under the server selected.

We  have been assigned to a new server.  When the new server is correctly selected, the program asks for email verification.  when that is done, it works.

I'm testing 'NWS Mobile' but it won't go past the 'Connect to NW Publisher app' section. Region and Congregation ID are fine, but it appears to not allow for a 6 digit 'Congregation PIN'. The 'Connect' button remains greyed out but will turn blue if 8 digits are entered.

Did you enable Enforce NWS Mobile PIN Lock in NWS Desktop? If not you can simply press one of the icons on the bottom and you are in.

I see what you mean. I have to change our PIN to a 8 digit pin, but it won't allow me in NWS Desktop.

We did enable "Enforce NWS Mobile PIN Lock" in NWS. That's not where I'm having an issue however. It's in the "Connect to NW Publisher app" section of the app. Our "Congregation PIN" has always been 6 digits, but "Connect" stays grey until at least 8 digits are entered.

Did you try to change the PIN to an 8 digit PIN in NWS? I did and it worked. The new PIN will not accept if you start with 0.

I changed it and it works fine.

BUT BE AWARE: Everyone in the congregation has to reconnect to NW Publisher with the new PIN.

I can easily change our 'Congregation PIN' to an 8-digit PIN, but we will delay doing that until we give the friends a warning they'll all need to reconnect. Was trying to avoid having to do that if at all possible. I submitted a ticket in the meantime, perhaps they can fix it to allow 6 digits. I'm sure we're not the only congregation with 6.

I notified everyone in the congregation through Whatsapp that they need to reconnect.

Then I sent an email to everyone with an old app version: Chose Send Email to App Persons with Old Version.

Adjust the template to your liking and make sure the following Tags are included:

[CONGREGATION_REGION]
[CONGREGATION_ID]
[CONGREGATION_PIN]

[FIRST_NAME]
[PERSON_PIN]

Good luck!

I'm having the same issue, and would like to avoid the headache of getting everyone reconnected to the app!

Hoping NW Scheduler enable support for congregations that use 6 digit pins (which I am hoping they should, considering the software itself generated the pin!).

What I don't like is the fact they didn't tell us this in the update information. I had to come here to find out. Now I have to hold off on updating until I can figure out what to do. I will have about 20 people I will have to give personal support. This type is always a nightmare for me and the congregation. It really does make me want to consider other options.

I can understand, but you can update NWS Desktop to 8.0 without problems. There is no need to use NWS Mobile if you don't need/want to. Everything is working fine. But if you want additional benefits of NWS Mobile and you do have an 8 digit PIN then you can start using it or wait until the bèta test is completed. We had a 6 digit pin and so I had to change the PIN and inform all the Publishers they had to reconnect and how to do it. I was up and running within an hour. Uptill now only had 2 calls for Help. They updated 'NWS Mobile' a couple of hours ago & it corrected the 'Congregation PIN', 8-digit issue. It'll now accept 6 digits.  According to a follow-up from them, 8 digits is preferred for the Congregation PIN for added security, just not sure that's mentioned anywhere on their site. I'll have to dig around later after work.
