Yep, did that when updated to first 8.1 version. it LOOKED like it sent all the data... not sure which part of the universe it sent it to, though 😉

Same here. When I updated and synced all of the Duties disappeared on NWP in the Duties section, but were still in the meeting schedules. When one of the administrators updated and synced, everything came back. You might have to wait for a few more brothers to update and sync.

I am the admin at our cong. I did it by the book. After installation there was plenty of stuff under send. I sent it and no errors. But still unknown. I even tried to use talkers name manually and congregation.
When sent only the congregation is shown in NWP, no name what so ever.
So there must be a bug and I have 8.1 #1446.
Every weekend meeting have unknown except for our own talkers.

Midweek meetings seems to be ok.
Luckily I still have all talks in a excelsheet since some talkers just disappeared without a trace.

So we have to wait for a update I guess.

PROBLEM: Public Speakers or Congregations show as "Unknown".
SOLUTION: Click Circuits, Congregations and Speakers > change the name of one Congregation and one Public Speaker (who is giving an upcoming talk) > click Send App Data

Did you try this?

I did this multiple times. Strangely it keeps changing. It now shows the congregation's name but not the speaker. So, I went back and changed an upcoming speaker (local because of the cancel confirmation if you change an incoming) and then the speaker names are there, and the congregation's name disappears. It has done this back and forth several times.

I am the admin and our new PTC updated before I did. After that I updated yesterday, I sent all the app data. I also updated to #1446 this morning. But the issue persists. I guess I may need to work on patience and see if it gets resolved.

We're also experiencing the same. Tried this solution but it still returns. Additionally, each time NWS is opened, there's always data to be sent, the same one... 'Public Speaker Congregation'.

Yes, no difference at all.
I got the same as @Sooner Guy 89 Now I got the talkers name but Congregation disappeared.
Also what happens if I change name on a shared congregation? I have not confidence to try it...

Most likely no brother with territories edit access has sent app data yet. I suggest asking a brother with territories edit access to send app data.

How do I edit access to send app data?

This is a very useful feature of NWP and I really don't want to see it go away.

We have a cross-assembly security service and have solved this so far by creating persons with the assembly names. The persons were not set up as publishers. Then we assigned these persons to the duties plan.

With the update, it seems to be expected that publishers are scheduled in the duties plans. Persons who are not publishers are displayed as "Unknown", so our planning no longer works.

Is this problem reproducible by others, and does anyone have a solution approach? Unfortunately, neighboring assemblies cannot be used in duties.

I agree. We have 8 FSGO's and 8 FSGA's. This setup would mean that I am going to have to help 16 people setup and use NWS Mobile. That is unfortunate. And since NWS Mobile is still in beta testing, I don't have it enabled even for me as the admin.

NWS Mobile question- Do I understand correctly, if someone wants to use the NWS Mobile, they will first have to have the NWS software on a pc and listed in congregation sharing.  Can one of you who are beta testing confirm this? Or will there be a way to use NWS Mobile without having to install the desktop version first?

I'll message them to reconsider for the same reasons you mentioned here.

I think that MS can be given access to the Publishers in their group in NWP, but I don't know if that is available in NWS Mobile.

No, someone can use NWS Mobile on their phone or tablet even if they do not own a computer. I have some friends serving in third world countries where most brothers don't own a computer, and they love NWS Mobile because they can use it on their phones.
For them to have access, a congregation administrator needs to add them as a shared person using NWS Desktop.

Second half of 2026 could be anywhere from July to December. I doubt they'll remove it from NWP until NWS Mobile is out of beta testing.
Several brothers in our congregation are using it. There wasn't really any setup, especially because they were already Shared Persons in NWS, even though a few of them didn't really use NWS before.

This would be good. At least it would be less overhead from a support standpoint. ty

Where du you see this info?

On the Me page of NWP. There is a setting in NWS Desktop to allow elders and MS to have access to the Publishers information on NWP and this is now at the top of the page in NWP>Me>Publishers.

Yes, we have the same - non-publishers are "unknown", and also (as can be seen) the 1st student assignment is repeated.

Can't find any work around yet...
