Have you heard - Earth's axis now shifting due to humans draining earth

Recommended Posts

  • New research shows that persistently pumping groundwater has shifted Earth's axis.
  • The reason is that we're moving all that water mass from under the continents to the oceans.
  • Most groundwater ends up in our oceans and raised sea levels by 6.24 mm from 1993-2010.

How is that even possible, the ground water we could pump is like a speck of dust on a bowling ball. That should not have an impact :D

Considering the title, it does seem a bit of a strange article 🤷‍♂️

The article says: "The Earth's rotational pole normally changes and wanders by about several meters each year... we've been extracting so much groundwater that it caused the Earth's rotational pole to drift by 64.16 degrees east at about 4.36 centimeters per year from 1993 to 2010. " But "since Earth's rotational pole periodically wanders by several meters per year, this contribution of a few centimeters from groundwater depletion is unconcerning, one of the researchers told Insider."

But the article did highlight.... "What is concerning, however, is groundwater's contribution to sea level rise. Groundwater is used for about 40% of global irrigation and provides almost half of all drinking water. Extracting it unsustainably may threaten aquatic ecosystems, cause water scarcity, and increase sea levels."

It was interesting to read the main front page article in yesterday's edition - Sunday 16 July 2023 - of the Washington Post - "In drought-stricken Arizona, water gushes for Saudi firm" - which discusses this pumping water out of the ground.

  • 2 weeks later...

Maybe can get everyone in the northern hemisphere  to run in the opposite direction that the earth is spinning....and get that axis back where it was.  🌍    🏃‍♂️

Any volunteers to get that organized???   Just so you know, I can’t run I have bad knees.  :coffee:

You need to check your sources better. That was not the point of the study. See first screenshot below. Business Insider made a misleading headline. Surprise surprise.

The earth's magnetic poles ARE shifting though, and the earth may tilt over so that the current equator is parallel to the magnetic poles instead of perpendicular. That has to do with the impact the sun's cycles within our galaxy has on our planet. You can learn more from the interdisciplinary research of Earth's disaster cycle that is compiled by an admittedly abrasive researcher @Suspicious0bservers on YouTube. He's only mad because he doesn't quite have accurate Bible context, though he clearly believes that the Bible is true. See second screenshot if you want to compare his content to what you know about the Bible.
