The expansion of Christianity is greatly attributed to the presence of Roman roads. These roads, spanning a vast empire, enabled early Christian figures like Paul the Apostle to traverse and disseminate the Gospel message.

I felt quite emotional when I first visited the Colosseum in Rome, remembering the many brothers and sisters who were tortured for the Roman people’s pleasure. Beastly world power for sure. But we'll be learning a lot more in our Book Study how those faithful brothers and sisters kept bearing witness under tribulation. Very appropriate to be studying their example in our times.

The Colosseum

The famous Roman amphitheater, the Colosseum, was built between C.E. 70 and 72.

The massive structure measured approximately 189 by 156 meters (620 by 513 feet), towered 4 stories high, and included 80 entrances to the amphitheater. The sheer number of entrances proved to be necessary: the Colosseum could hold more than 50,000 spectators at its maximum capacity.
