Any way to screen profanity on mobile YouTube?

Hi friends,

As the title indicates, I’ve been searching for an app or setting that would screen profanity on mobile (not desktop) YouTube.

 

Do you know of anything like that? Thanks.

Unless you settle your account as a "kid", or invent an extension like "sponsorblock" but for "profanity", I don't think that's possible

Try "Restricted Mode" in both Web and App Settings. Maybe it'll work...

With youtube there's no screening/ratings like on traditional TV and streaming and no sites to tell you if one of the thousands of thousands of videos have cursing in them, so something like that is definitely not possible, it'd like trying to block out every single tweet with profanity in them from coming across your feed, etc. Lots of videos I've come across are about an innocent or interesting topic and the creator injects profanity in some random unnecessary way. I usually just stop watching the video there if that happens. I'd like to think the algorithm listens and tries not to recommend videos like that overtime. My goto is to just stick to creators and channels I know who don't use profanity and sub and watch them exclusively.

One of the problems with "profanity" screening on an internation platform like YT is that what is profane in one culture is accepted in another so, any such filter allows some things through some would not like to see/hear while other things get blocked that some would consider acceptable.

 

One size does NOT fit all.
