free Screensharing+audio, from iPad

I’ve been testing a number of apps that offer screenshare and most of them do not include the system audio.

 

Obviously the big two are Zoom and FaceTime but Zoom is not free (kicks you out after 40 mins and then makes you wait 10 mins before resuming the call), while FaceTime works as long as everyone is using an Apple device (note: FaceTime video calling works on Android and windows, but lacks the screensharing part of FaceTime, even in one direction)

 

I also don’t want to use Facebook-owned apps, so I haven’t tested WhatsApp (but feel free to chime in if you’ve testing audio sharing from an iPad/iPhone—I won’t use it but I’d still be curious if it works).

 

That left me testing

1. google meet; it did not work (video works but no sound)

 

2. telegram; same problem, video only

 

3. discord: it works! Full audio 

 

4. jitsi: no audio

 

what else is free and might work with both video and audio? I’m utterly shocked that it is this difficult still for two people to watch a video together in 2023

Since Zoom works so well for this, I have not tested anything else ... but then, I have a paid account so I am not kicked off at 40 minutes

I don’t need to be reminded I’m poor; that’s why the first word in the title is “free”!
