DBAH featured on "On Patrol Live: First Shift"

Recommended Posts

Friday night, March 8, the OP Live show ended with the police trying to cut the lock/chain off a large gate ... the show was out of time and ended.

Tonight, on the pre–OP Live show where they do some follow-up on events from the previous show, they showed the police struggling with a large pair of bolt cutters trying to cut the chain to a large iron gate. They explained that the gate was on a "Jehovah Witness facility". It was the Daytona Beach Assembly Hall! The gate and entry are easily recognizable when you have been there and seen it in person.

Seems a suspect was evading the police and managed to get inside the fence and on the property. The police used a drone with IR to locate the suspect and released a dog that quickly located and apprehended the suspect.

That was all there was to the mention of the DBAH on the program, but it was an interesting way for this program to mention the Assembly Hall for the first time on the show.

That seems odd, I thought all of the AH had a fire key box attached to the main gate for emergency access.

It was the police in pursuit of a suspect - not the fire department. Maybe the police don't know about any key or have access to it.

Do the Police have the policy of "Shoot first, then ask questions later"?

Uh .... No. They didn't shoot anyone. They hand-cuffed and arrested the suspect.

It is not common for the police to shoot anyone in our area unless the suspect shoots first.

All of the police officers may not carry a key to the gate while the assigned fire station may ... and they would bring it with them if they were called to the AH
