Leading edge stuff, and where the brain is concerned, you would expect it to be challenging:

This is a procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain to improve symptoms of major depression. It's called a "noninvasive" procedure because it's done without using surgery.

Very neat!  Just goes to show more and more how we are one big bio-electric machine.  This connects to the "cellular voltage" concept I've been diving into for the past couple of years.

Yes I tried it for chronic depression.  No real results.  I tried it because I am drug resistant.  I'm now on my 11th med which makes me sleep 15 hours a day.  I currently am getting in-office Ketamine treatments every other week. It is helping a little but not much.  I'll feel better for about 2 days. Being home for almost 2 years with covid really took its toll.  I'd be happy never leaving the house again.  Not a great way to feel as a JW unless you want to feel guilty 24/7....... not to mention what it does to my wife.

I hope and pray for all who suffer with depression/anxiety/panic disorders. All i read was in office ketamine and it scared me for you. I have not researched this method but only assosciate with Matthew Perry and a few high profile figures. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for relief.

I did the initial 36 treatments and an additional series with no results.

Matthew was abusing high amounts of Ketamine "Special K".  Mine is a low dose, is based on my weight and is given in the Dr's office under the complete supervision of a RN.  If you have ever had sedation you probably have had this type of Ketamine.

@dozerman5676 i truly hope you dont think i was comparing your situation to Matthew Perry's. I thought i was being careful in my words not to do that. Its that i was married to a alcoholic/addict before his death in July 2023 and just the mention of certain medications terrify me. He was sober for about 5 yrs prior to having a fall from 2 story ladder requiring major surgery and was instantly hooked on rx drugs which he never got off of. Huge amounts of MS long actting 100mg 4 x day and MS contin IR 30mg 4 x day. I had countless ERs tell me no MD would prescribe that amount then I would show them his RX bottles. Most unbelievable thing was his pain management MD was the head of the opiate program in the state of OKLAHOMA. Yes, I am terrified of any addictive medication as i have experienced the havoc they cause to families. I know yours was a tx oversaw by a medical professional but it triggers the trauma I went through and the countless others i've seen. I am sorry if I made it sound any other way. Please forgive.

Just don't use it on your positronic brain, it may cause damage to your emotion chip.

I just got done doing 30 sessions of TMS. It was done with the psychiatric group called Clearwave Mental Health here in the Hudson Valley, NY.

My depression was so debilitating that performing even basic ADLs was severely tough. I slept through most of the daytime and still had very little energy to do anything, even simple tasks. Passive suicidal thinking was very common for me.

I heard about TMS through my roommate, who heard about it from a sister. My roommate finished her TMS treatment before me, and I saw big results: she was less agitated by little things, more talkative, more positive-thinking, and all around more enjoyable to be around.

The TMS treatment itself doesn't hurt. It feels like a woodpecker pecking your hard lightly, or a female with long, acrylic nails tapping them on your head.

My roommate said that since I had finished the treatment, I'm smiling more and interacting with others more rather than shutting myself up in my room. To be honest, yes...I still feel depression, but it's not as severe as it was before. I also forgot to mention that TMS also helped me with my anxiety.

I highly recommend the treatment because it is noninvasive and isn't an extra medication to take with its unsettling side effects.

About Morphine Sulfate (MS Contin, Morphine Sulfate - Long Acting Pill)

Morphine is an opioid. Opioids are the strongest form of medication used to treat pain. Opioids work by attaching to opioid receptors, which are found in many areas of the body, including the brain, spinal cord, and gastrointestinal (GI) tract. An opioid attaches to the receptor, which lessens the number of pain messages sent to the brain, reducing pain. Opioids are used to treat moderate to severe pain that is not well managed with other pain medications. They do not treat the underlying cause of the pain. If cancer is causing the pain, the cancer treatment is aimed at reducing the pain.

MS-IR™ is an immediate release form taken every 3 to 4 hours as needed for pain relief.

Daydream -

Scientists have discovered that daydreaming is an important tool for creativity. It causes a rush of activity in a circuit, which connects different parts of the brain and allows the mind to make new associations.

So interesting to me that I never come to this forum but did today and see a post about tms. My doc is sending me to a specialist to discuss this for chronic tinnitus. I’ve had it 30+ years and always able to cope but it’s gone into overdrive and I’m willing to explore this option. I got a little nervous reading about it so it’s a relief to see that others have had success even if it’s for a different condition
