Permanent makeup such as  microblading eyebrows , permanent eyeliner and lip tint are growing trends. While tattoos were forbidden under the Mosaic Law, the practice of permanent makeup could raise questions about whether it aligns with Bible principles. I realize this is a personal choice but I’d like to hear your thoughts on this topic.

We have a nice 11 page topic about tatoos - feel free to add something there after reading the thoughts you are asking for:

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)

I think it may depend so much on how it is viewed in the locality, whether it is considered as responsible or irresponsible.

We will not want to do things that will bring reproach on Jehovah's name, even though the thing may not seem like a bad thing.

For example, women across all cultures usually Pierce their ears and noses to put rings for aesthetics.even though it is a permanent make up,these is not considered inappropriate even in our organization.

Here in Africa, every tribe have unique tribal marks which everyone considers as a good thing.these tribal marks are permanent make ups too.IMG_20250106_184608.thumb.JPG.de53969f2da810ca1a64d41cec2a5742.JPG

This is a typical tribal mark of the Fulani people, my Mom has similar marks like the one in the photo.

@Ishaya I bet your mom is as beautiful, if not more so, than this nice lady in this picture.💕I prefer a more natural, simple look, like Esther although I have rocked a red lip from Dior occasionally such as Assemblies, Regional Convention, and the Memorial 💋

Nothing about an eyebrow tattoo conflicts with the Bible's prohibition on tattoos which was based on avoiding idol worship. According to the link, we would have just as much cause to ban cutting the sideburns which were prohibited for the same reason.

Quote

FORMS OF IDOLATRY

Acts of idolatry referred to in the Bible included such revolting practices as ceremonial prostitution, child sacrifice, drunkenness and self-laceration to the point of causing blood to flow. (1 Ki. 14:24; 18:28; Jer. 19:3-5; Hos. 4:13, 14; Amos 2:8) Idols were venerated by partaking of food and drink (Ex. 32:6; 1 Cor. 8:10), by bowing and sacrificing to them, by song and dance and even by a kiss. (Ex. 32:8, 18, 19; 1 Ki. 19:18; Hos. 13:2) Idolatry was also committed by arranging a table of food and drink for false gods (Isa. 65:11), by making drink offerings, sacrificial cakes and sacrificial smoke (Jer. 7:18; 44:17) and by weeping in religious ceremony. (Ezek. 8:14) Certain actions, such as tatooing the flesh, making cuttings upon the flesh or imposing baldness on the forehead, cutting the sidelocks and destroying the extremity of the beard, were prohibited by the Law, possibly because of being linked with prevailing idolatrous practices of neighboring peoples.—Lev. 19:26-28; Deut. 14:1.

Our neighbor had her eyebrows tattooed several years ago and it looked bad. It truly did look like she had used a permanent marker pen to color her eyebrows. She recently had the tattoos removed, a long, painful, expensive and ugly process.

I knew someone that had her lips, eyeliner and eyebrows tattooed many years ago. It looked good when she was younger but looked odd, somewhat garish as she aged.

Of course a matter of personal choice, also lip liner tattoos and plumped up lips. Each to his own

Sounds inevitable when things on your body change places! Somehow, they tend to go south instead of north.

The difference between try and triumph is that little "umph"
