2023-2024 World Report

Recommended Posts

A very encouraging fact to think about is the number of congregations in countries under ban: it went up by 81 congregations!

An increase in publishers of 1.4%...

Around 48.000 pioneers serve there...

Of course, the majority of these friends are in Russia. But let's not forget the ones in the other 32 countries where they serve under ban.
Their example of endurance makes a deep impression on all of us

It looks like that 2024 Service Year was a good year for JW’s. I compare it to 2023 Service Year by amounts of each category. And basically most was in the plus mark for the year 2024 too. Here I go.

Branches - 1

Lands Reporting  +1

Total Congregations   +590

Memorial Attendance +657,695

Partakers +900

Peak Publishers +296,898

Average Publishers Preaching Each Month +203,082

Percentage Increase  +1.1

Baptized +26,750

Average Pioneer Publishers Each Month +129,045

Average Bible Studies Each Month +198,934

Any corrections, please do.

Just a heads up for Mozambique.
Their average number of publishers was 91.988.
The number of baptisms: 10.755!🫨

That means that in every congregation, there is approximately one tenth newly baptized ones.

Just doing some math: there are 1942 congregations.
That means: 91988:1942= around 47 publishers per congregation.

Of this 47, 4 or 5 are newly baptized ones! That is just amazing. All praise to Jah!

I think there is no thread for this already.

I've just skimmed the report and, other than the terrific growth in Africa, it surprised me that in most Western countries there's been an increase.

I mean, most of Europe, Australia, the States, Canada.

I had the feeling that in most of these countries -perhaps because of the many years of preaching work and the high number of Witnesses- we were reaching a plateau, with years of increases in some of them and decreases in others. But I found this general increase in most of them surprising.

What do you think?

Yeah, I'll just merge with his topic with that one.

This week at the midweek meeting we are invited to highlight positive aspects of 2024 Service Year Report.

It's amazing to see our brothers in Central African Republic despite being one of the poorest countries and a country with various instabilities, our 3352 brothers and sisters have been such an encouraging example for us. In 5.9million of people, our brothers there had an 11% increase from last year, 269 were baptized. There were 400 pioneers. 9,000 Bible studies were conducted, and 26,000 had attended the memorial...

Have you noticed something that has been encouraging to you and you'd like to share? :)

Big increases in many African countries. Congo,Mozambique,Zambia.

Nice increases following the COVID blip. Looks kinda 'back-on-track' now?

Also Phillipines had a nice increase.

Consistant growth in recent years, and nice to see the slightly larger year-on-year increases for the last couple of years too.

plus USA had a small increase

Increase year-on-year, though looks like 2021 is still the 'all-time' peak for the US?

Nice! That is a big increase, and a lot attending the memorial.

In the letter we received, it stated our local branch territory (Thailand) had an average of 3087 regular and auxiliary pioneers for the 2024 service year, which is 55 percent of our total publishers. I thought that statistic was amazing!

I love reading of places where the number of bible studies exedes the number publishers and looking at the increase some places have.

I remember reading - or was it on an Update broadcast that the Phillippino brothers and sisters are having so much increase and success in their country that they can spare teachers and pioneers spreading out to other nearby countries to take Good News to where Kingdom Evangelizer schools cannot be set up yet and where they need qualified teachers and elders to help fledgling congregations, so there can be an equalizing.

Statistics can be a bit misleading. We read of decreases and these get put against increases and seem to bring down overall averages to a small increase over all. Yet, when you look at the countries with large decreases, they are war zones. Therefore, it is likely that the faithful ones are still in existance, not left the faith, just left the country and gone elsewhere or the reports, under wartime conditions, may not be so complete, so decreases may not be so large after all.

For example - I remember one year reading how the Island of Monserrat had suffered a 50% decrease, when their numbers were greatly reduced due to a massive population evacuation when a large volcano exploded and destroyed much of that island. The small amount of Witnesses there were moved to places of larger numbers of Witnesses, where they would not figure largely in their statistics of increase of publishers, so the overall average would seem small, but not so much really - the few there had just moved on.

I know also that, a few years ago many Middle eastern immigrants landed on Turkish mainland to be contacted by Witnesses, had studies, but then were moved on through Europe to re-settle elsewhere as they weren't Turkish and Turkey was not keeping none Muslims over their quota for immigrants in that country, so again people moved out and were lost to their statistics. Same may apply in Greece where migrant camps have been emptied or burned down by far right political protestors, so publishers among them were moved on and needs-greaters went home back to UK to help in Farsi and Arab congregations here.

@Parale Thanks for these graphs. Not sure how these are generated but if possible I would love to see the graphs for Ireland, USA, Canada and Mexico. 🙏
