According to The Jerusalem Post:  A breakthrough study has been published, Advanced Deep Learning Approaches for Automated Recognition of Cuneiform Symbols.

This study details how the team trained modern image-recognition software to read the wedge-shaped impressions in clay that record the world's earliest laws.  As an example, the software read a Babylonian law tablet , the first clause of Hammurabi's Code, (1754 BCE) at 98 percent character accuracy.

Fast, reliable transcription could let museums digitize extensive collections from Mesopotamia, Syria and Anatolia, revealing legal, economic and literary texts that have been effectively silent for antiquity.

Museums have collections of cuneiform records that date back to 3200 BCE.  It would be very interesting to know what they say.

This is a fantastic article about AI, written by an experienced therapist:  https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/01/opinion/chatgpt-therapist-journal-ai.html?unlocked_article_code=1.bE8.SFyV.4Bk1Qye1ScYl#commentsContainer

I've been using AI (mainly Copilot) to help me navigate the touchy circumstances surrounding my son's engagement, among other personal problems. It is quite good... I ask it to use jw.org, wol.jw.org, and other complementary resources for reference. It's given me a lot of solid food for thought.

I used the prompt below for my latest queries today. I simply plugged in everything written within the quotation marks and, wow -- good stuff.

Quote

Type a basically stream-of-consciousness jumble expressing your thoughts, feelings, concerns, etc., about whatever is troubling you. Then ask ChatGPT the following: "What do you think of this? What I am missing? What do you think I'm minimizing, exaggerating, overly worried about or not concerned enough about? How am I rationalizing or deluding myself or overreacting or underreacting? What is a more positive spin on what I'm saying or what is a more sobered and realistic perspective? What are you seeing that you think I'm not seeing? Please do not be unnecessarily supportive. Tell me what you think I need to hear, not what I want to hear, but do it in a way that is compassionate and understanding and realizes I am doing the best I can here."

Give it a whirl. You might be happily surprised ❤️

I use ChatGTP, Grok, GitHub Copilot, Claude, MS Copilot and PI. I'm a network engineer but specialize in automation. So I use a lot of Python and a lot of AI too. It helps debugging really fast versus trying to figure it out. I use AI to make reports and such based on management needs. I also use it to help write documentation. Sometimes when I don't want to write something from scratch, I give it entirely what I want and tweak as I test.

But in daily life mostly for making food and I have an apothecary of more than 50 herbs, flowers, and spices. I'll say I have these ingredients and I want a Mediterranean or Mexican recipe with what I have. If I don't have something I asked it to give me like umami or flavor profile. If I'm sick, have anxiety, need sleep, or need a boost, I'll ask it a herbal tea combination or herb blending to grind to make as homemade capsules.

I do the same with essential oils as I have a wide apothecary and it helped me properly source of those and I will ask it to give me a nice blend for headache, back pain, anxiety, etc. And it works.

I'm learning how to make sourdough and so currently I'm building a suitable schedule of feeding the starter and making bread. I may start up a mini-bakery for my gluten sensitive friends because I use Einkorn which is low gluten and known to not hurt gluten sensitive but will hurt celiac.

Sometimes online recipes say use 2 pounds of meat and here is the recipe. Well I'll take a recipe and I have a Chuck Roast at 2.65 pounds and I want to adjust the seasonings to fit the weight of the meat. I've found that makes a world a difference sometimes having exact measurements.

It's helped me make my own soap, laundry detergent, household cleaning products, etc. LA city water is dirty and I've learned how to distill and remineralize water. Thus I don't need bottled water or a water subscription and can just do it myself.

I use it for research, making comments concise, as a search engine for finding products or the best of something. Found a ceremonial grade high quality Tencha (matcha) loose leaf from Kagoshima Japan. Nothing like the stuff we get here.

I use it as a helpful assistant and it's improved my life greatly I think. I love it and I save loads of money now. 🙂
