Devastation in central Texas

Recommended Posts

The number of deaths in the Texas floods has now reached 81, with 40 still missing. As much as our hearts go out to our brothers and sisters who may be affected, we also remember that Jehovah loves everyone caught in this tragedy.

Let’s pray that our spiritual family can be a source of comfort — not just for one another, but also for the wider community — at just the right time and in just the right way. After all, “how good is a word at the right time!” (Proverbs 15:23)

We understand that there may be many more missing, as others will have been in the area camping and enjoying the special holiday weekend. May our brothers bring comfort to those there, and keep themselves safe from the dangerous circumstances that continue on.

Those living in the area are in our prayers, and we await any news from the GB regarding the effects of this terrible catastrophe.

According to what we saw in the recent Organizational Accomplishments video, we may see some news on jw.org soon.

So far I heard all the brothers are OK. I was a dangerous area to live on. It a hilly area that go down stream and that water was doing.

It is a beautiful river, clear, cold, usually slow, low humidity, large cypress trees. Perfect for camping during the summer. Especially if you live in the Gulf Coast. Long history for the Camps, many generations have used them.

Very easy to think as a parent it was safe to leave their children there.

Times like this make one long for when Jehovah balances out our earth to not have such weather extremes.

It's difficult for me to call them "Natural Disasters", there is nothing natural about them, they are environmental disaster's. You put words to my prayer that one day soon we will not suffer any more environmental disasters.
