So I’ve just started watching this series on Netflix.  I vaguely remember that one of our brothers was a flight attendant on this flight. Can anyone confirm this please?

I just started watching this last night, too. It's very good... I remember when this happened- so sad 😞

Never heard it expressed so well.  Imperfect humans want to lie occasionally, cheat a little, sin by commission or by omission.  We imperfect humans want to do those things from time-to-time, we just don't want to get in trouble for doing them.  We may even feel it's righteous under certain circumstances. "There is no man that does not sin"  Ec 7:20, 1 Kings 8:46

I just came across this article, it was posted yesterday, on the CNN site

I initially thought it was about the same flight being discussed in this topic, until I read it. It's about the recent discovery of the wreckage a different Pan Am aircraft (Flight 526A), that sunk just off the coast of Puerto Rico in 1952. The wreckage was found on the 2nd of June this year, 74 years after the crash.

While reading the article I came across the following

Davenport told them she escaped the plane and pulled the young boy to safety as he reached out from the water, according to published reports and Montalvo’s account. Davenport remained in touch with the boy until her death in 1992 at the age of 90, Montalvo wrote.

The boy’s name is Mark Van Daalen. He was 2 years old when the plane went down, the son of missionaries Leo and Eunice Van Daalen, according to published reports and The Watchtower, the official publication of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. The family was planning to visit relatives on the mainland.

“Leo and Eunice” died in the crash, according to The Watchtower. Their son “was found floating in the ocean. He was tossed into a life raft by a survivor and was given artificial respiration – and he lived.”

 

 

Turns out a missionary couple were in the flight too, with their son being the only family member to survive. First I've heard of this.

I remember it happening clearly, we drove past the site about a week later, it was very sad to see
