Statue of Beast with a Harlot on it's back at Catholic Church

Recommended Posts

In some cities, it is the traditional first float in the procession for the feast of Corpus Christi going all the way back to the Baroque period. Such parades would be lead by the image of a monster -- often ridden by a woman who represented faith, and its ability to defeat monstrous sins.

Haven't they read Revelation ?

"Absolute rubbish”

shocking... yet oh so sad

At that time those who fear Jehovah spoke with one another, each one with his companion,

and Jehovah kept paying attention and listening..." ~ Malachi 3:16

I've seen this before, the description of the statue is interesting.  Let me find it.

It's called a "Tarasca" -- half serpent, half lady. (Most guys have had dates like that but would rather talk about football.) In some cities, it is the traditional first float in the procession for the feast of Corpus Christi going all the way back to the Baroque period. Such parades would be lead by the image of a monster -- often ridden by a woman who represented faith, and its ability to defeat monstrous sins.

And here's a wiki link:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarasque

You'll notice in the image that the heads have way more than 10 horns.
