This is an interesting report that has been featured on BBC TV and radio lately. They make some odd innacurate assertions about Jesus' actual birth, but some interesting history about Xmas origins:

Helen when I watched this I was taken back to my childhood. My father was in a cult that celebrated the winter solstice and 'blood letting and sacrificing' (both animal and human) was a huge part of what they did. I remember it being called Saturnalia. It began with Samhain (Halloween in Druid worship) and finished with New Years. This really triggered me and made it so real again. Most worldly people cannot believe this let alone Jehovah's Witnesses. This is what makes this such a horrible pagan holiday. No wonder our brothers stopped practicing Xmas after they looked into it's background.
