I read this story today and was so touched by it. This is why it's so important to not abort children.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2262242/Mother-took-heartbreaking-decision-severely-disabled-baby-aborted-seeing-smile-3D-scan-picture.html

A mother was unable to abort her severely disabled son despite doctors' warnings after seeing her baby's smile in a 3D scan picture.

Katyia Rowe was told her baby's brain had not formed properly and that he would never walk or talk and would need 24-hour care.

But after seeing real-time moving scans of him smiling, blowing bubbles, kicking and waving his arms she made the heartbreaking decision to go through with the birth.

Tragically Lucian, as she named him, died nine hours after he was born.

Despite the ordeal, Ms Rowe said she had no regrets going through with the birth as she was able to cuddle her baby son.

'If he could smile and play and feel then despite his disabilities he deserved to enjoy whatever life he had left, no matter how short. Just because his life would be shorter or different, didn’t mean he didn’t deserve to experience it.

‘As long as he was pain free I vowed to let him enjoy his life both while inside me and outside, no matter how long that be.’

‘As I watched I knew that while I was carrying him he still had a quality of life and it was my duty as a mother to protect that no matter how long he had left, he deserved to live.’

Thanks for posting this. Even now, people say that an unborn baby is just a parasite, or not a human, just a piece of tissue. But a piece of tissue doesn't smile and blow bubbles. When people say that, they are not expressing a scientific opinion, they are trying to emotionally, irrationally, justify killing this PERSON.

This is a tragic story of my childhood friends and just to show the doctors don't always get it right.

Peter and Evonne fell in love and got married

Shortly there after Peters brother Michael was diagnosed with only half a kidney and needed either a transplant or dialysis

It was a genetic condition which Peter although having no symptoms was a carrier.

Evonne got pregnant and tragically her son was born with no kidney and died shortly after his birth.

Evonne got pregnant again and all the scans showed that the baby boy had no kidneys the same as before. The doctors urged Evonne to have an abortion because shortly after his birth he would die the same as his brother.

About 4 or 5 months into the pregnancy Peter died tragically in a car accident. He was a driver to deliver bread and while he was at the back of his van a lady turned a corner and slammed into him crushing the lower half of his body he died about a day later.

When you are young the death of a friend seems to hit a lot harder.

Our hearts were going out to Evonne knowing just after the death of her husband she would have to face the death of her dear little son.

But the doctors didn't get it right her son Jason is alive 30 years later he was born with only a very small kidney.

He was and still is a beautiful lovely boy just imagine if she had listened to the doctors.

Oh Ava. Very moving.

Clez also I am moved.:lips:

The Drs do make loads of Mistakes.

There is a needle for Amneosynthesis. They use it to tack the fluids & see if the Baby has down syndrome.

It is very bad. Painful too. They do not apply any numbing agents.

I made the mistake of having with Jade. Wanted to everything possible. The Drs say there is no risk of Miscarrage. But the risk is high. I found next day. Had to so spend a day in hospital. The drs even before i was about to have her kept saying should abort many times they nagg. Even say she would have down syndrome.

Then when i was 3 months preg. With my son they have tried to put pressure to have the needle. Said he would have downs. There was in the papers regarding the needle.

Many women have had it & aborted the baby and the baby was beautiful nothing wrong with it so sad.

One specialist said all the proceedures carried out is for the sake of the money.

"It's a known fact that eighty decibels of rushing water is one of the most pleasing sounds known to mankind. On other hand, ten and a half days at sea is enough water for anybody."

Poor lady :(

People just bury their heads in the sand and try to tell themselves that theres no life inside just to make their conscience cleaner.

My little girl was born at 21 weeks but because here in england you can abort until 24 weeks, I couldn't have a birth or death certificate. My hubby had to sit for an hour signing paperwork so he could bring her out of the hospital for a funeral. She was refered to as a product of conception matter. Not very nice at all.

I look forward to the day when all babies will be coming back to life and no more babies will have to die

So sad :( I had already had 5 children when I fell pregnant with my 6th at the age of 41 and you wouldn't believe the pressure and statistics that I was subject to!!! I refused the scans for "older women" despite the pressure and was getting myself prepared to deal with a child with a disability - I got that much negativity. This is my 20 month old son, who is now running his poor mumma insane!!!!! :D

What a beauty! We were out in service with a very precocious 2 yr old girl--Lydia--and when we approached the door she ran ahead of her mother and cupped her hands around her eyes with her little face pressed hard against the window looking into their home and said "Yep, yep their in there" I wanted to roll off the porch with laughter! Look at what you would be missing out on if you carried through with what worldly people give not a second thought to doing.

Thankful to be among friends everyday!
