sory if this has been posted before..

theology teacher

Teacher: Today we are going to learn about Satan. Before starting today’s lesson I want to know your opinion about Satan..Anything in your mind about him?

Student 1: The scripture says Satan is an evil creature- the source of all evils

Teacher: We all agree with him?

Student 2: I personally don’t agree or disagree. I just wish to understand Satan much better… Is he purely evil? Does Satan have ANY good in him?

Teacher: Okay this is time for your opinion..Who can answer his question?

Student 3: That’s the hard one to tell because there is no evidence of Satan good deeds on earth may be in heaven?

Teacher: Okay...Anyone else with different opinion....Just think critically

Student 4: I think Satan has his good side too but i don’t have proof of it now.

Teacher: Is there any evidence of Satan good side?

Student 5: He thought for a while and sya this is what I have learnt about Satan. He is the hard worker and a very busy creature living on earth.

All students laughed and say Satan is busy and hard worker for evils..

Teacher: ..We can simply conclude Satan may be 99.9%evil but 0.1% good…

Moral of the story:

If Satan was a fleshly creature would have been recorded in the Guinness Book as an evil creature ever lived on earth, still he has his good side. Does it sound true about our brothers and sisters that despite the fact that they do a lot of bad things but if we constructively think, we will surely find their good things in them? We should have no trouble saying good things about them despite the fact that the bad overweigh the good in our thinking!Let’s paint our mind with the good side of our brothers and sisters.

Um... no. This is not a fair or valid assessment.

Satan has no good side. Satan is the embodiment of evil. He stands in opposition to Jehovah our God. He is the enemy.

Satan was a PERFECT creature that rebelled against our loving heavenly father, Jehovah. He was perfect and threw that perfection away so he could snatch what was not his, worship from humans.

It is not possible to compare our seeking the good side in our brothers and sisters to seeking a good side of Satan. Our brothers and sisters are NOT PERFECT. They have never been perfect and they will only be perfect once Satan's influence is removed from this Earth. Our brothers and sisters are not rebelling against Jehovah. Instead, they are actively seeking to bring praise and honor to him. Our brothers and sisters may at times rub us the wrong way, but they seek Jehovah's mercy and forgiveness. They are, like us, humbly asking our heavenly father for his love and seeking to do his will.

Satan does not care one ounce for Jehovah. To use an illustration about Satan's so-called "good side" as a way for us to find the positive in our brothers and sisters is insulting to those very brothers and sisters. Further, it elevates Satan to a level to that of someone that should be pitied and whose flaws should be overlooked. This whole idea is demonic and disgusting.

I don't know who this theology teacher was, but it obviously was someone that does not love our heavenly father.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

I moved this to "stuff of interest to Jehovah's Witnesses"

This "Story" has been around Facebook and other places for some time. It is not an "Interchange of encouragement" topic.

"The Interchange is a theocratic discussion forum for encouragement and spiritual growth."

I totally agree with you, Shawn. This is a ludicrous analogy. It's like saying someone is good because he is always very busy and industrious--is it good to be called a busy worker when what that individual is busy at is killing people?

Still shaking my head.

I intend to live forever...so far so good. :D

I think it's safe to say he's good at what he does. However, being proficient at something is not the same as being "morally right; righteousness."

I love Jehovah's view in Ezekiel 28:15 Jehovah says regarding Satan "You were faultless in your ways from the day of your being created until unrighteousness was found in you."Jehovah does agree that we must find the good in each other where possible . (Eph 4:17-20; 5:10)

Yes--it's that word "until" that means that Jehovah no longer sees any good qualities in Satan.

....Those who seek Jehovah can understand EVERYTHING......Proverbs 28:5. (The possibilities are endless!)

No not even 0.1% good I'm afraid.  He is 100% evil and that is why he and his wicked system will be destroyed.

Maybe you could research a serial killer's background and say he killed so many people because his mummy didn't love him, but Satan was perfect, had a perfect loving heavenly Father and he rejected that so he could become a serial killer.  No excuses.  We are told to hate what is bad, and the prime example of badness is Satan.

We're all trying our best, trying to see the good in our brothers and sisters, even when they disappoint us, but this is a terrible analogy.

My sentiments exactly.

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

I have been thinking about this illustration. I too, thought it was awful. However, even tho I still don't like illustration, we unfortunately have to give credit to satan for being as successful as he is. Jehovah finds no good in him but that doesn't mean he doesn't pay attention to him. Jehovah must, because almost daily we are reminded of how crafty satan is and how we need to learn to protect ourselves. If he wasn't good at luring thousands of people away from Jehovah every year than Jehovah would never keep him on his radar. Does he have any good in him absolutely not! But let's make him less successful by sticking close to Jehovah.

Were faultless.  Were is the keyword.  Past tense.
