I Luv Gemstones

Recommended Posts

This is an Opal branch. Often wood that has been exposed to clay and water will petrify and turn into Opal. This one is incredible! I wanna wear it around my neck!  :uhhuh:

WOW - that it beautiful - I wonder - would they cut that up to make jewelry? I would lone to have some that.

My goodness. Almost takes your breath away. Petrified wood takes on a new light today. Almost literally. My petrified wood is a bit plain, but it will still be special. I love rocks. Mine are beach rocks for the most part. I do have a nice piece of jade. From the beach. What I love is the fact man can harvest away, but Jehovah will never let them strip the earth of beauty such as this. I actually think the best is still out there. Thanks for sharing.

I want to age without sharp corners, and have an obedient heart!

I have a whole collection of Gemstones. I really love rubies. Then I like emeralds. I really like opals too. Well I really like them all. Whenever I look at them they remind me of all the beautiful things that Jehovah has provided for our enjoyment.

I have several hundred, all different kinds. They feel so good when you put them in a bowl and let them run through your fingers.

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

Maybe they could just run a nice chain necklace through it and wear it as a pendant.   :nope:

That would be some pendant.  Break your neck trying to wear it all day.

It would truly be a shame to cut something so beautiful up just for the greed factor.

Where is a photo of the Tanzinite and the other one you mentioned?

Thankful to be among friends everyday!

I have a desire to collect every stone mentioned in the heavenly temple wall and create a necklace out of it. I made a study of that once. I believe they are the same stones on Aaron's Ephod. Let me look them up and post them all here.

Jasper

Sapphire

Chalcedony

Emerald

Sardonyx

Sardius

Chrysolite

Beryl

Topaz

Chrysoprase

Hyacinth

Amethyst

Tgem-334446a.jpg This is Chalcedony. It is Quartz and can be several other colors from  bluish, white, or gray. I really love the calming effect of this lovely stone.

You mentioned the "calming effect" of this stone.  Do you think different stones have different effects of different people?

Peace...... Love...... &....... Paradise......

Every physical creation gives off a vibration. Ever notice how just being near someone can creep you out or make you feel calm? Their energy comes out of them and you feel it. Gemstones DO vibrate at different frequencies and can have effects on humans and animals. I am not talking of birthstones or things related to chakras or auras, nothing demonic.

The gemstones I am attracted to have to do with color and the way their look makes me feel inside. Some stones I do not own and have no idea if they vibrate well with me. I just know that they match or go well with something I might wear.

This is Sardius. It is today called Carnelian. It can be several colors and is very neat looking.

Then there is Sardonyx, which is the very same stone as above. It may also be related to the Onyx or Bloodstone. There is quite a cool write up about this stone.  http://www.gemselect.com/other-info/onyx-stone.php

And here I thought I was the only rock head in the bunch!  It's great to be among fellow rockhounds!

I've loved collecting rocks since I was a kid and used to pick up a stone at every stop we'd make during vacations....until my dad put a stop to it because they were weighing down the back end of the car <lol>!

My favorite type of rocks are the ones that are florescent. But my best collection is the one I'm starting to work on it's one of every rock and mineral mentioned in the bible. And when it comes to the minerals used in heaven....I can only image how glorious those gems must be.

So, Angela, you get a pendant or earrings not a ring. How often does your chest or ears bang into things? REAL women know how to get the stones they love! LOL That's like REAL men don't eat quiche!   :backflip:

I say go for the gemstone you love!

BTW my hubby just gave me a beautiful ring for our 43rd anniversary today (May 30th). It is gold over sterling silver and it looks like ribbon candy turned on it's side. In each curl in the ribbon is a garnet! The garnets are pear shaped and are delicious looking. It fits my finger great and snugly, so it doesn't spin. I have lost weight and my ring finger is now a size 5. My other rings spin in the cold weather and it drives me nuts because I am constantly using my hands to crochet. This is one that will definitely stay put!

My daughter, Julie, absolutely LOVED rocks. We still have piles of them in various places in our house. We both are drawn to the 'different' looking stones. We like various shapes or patterns in the stones themselves. We are rock hounds! LOL I would love to go to the Grand Canyon and just LOOK for hours. In fact, I would love to stay put all day and just observe the changing colors as the sun goes over.

If I was a pagan I'd worship rocks and trees! LOL   :uhhuh:
