Thank you, Br. Dean for that very encouraging video. I was contacted in 1973 when I was 20 years old. I think it was around that time in the early 70's that the atrocities against our Malawian JWs came to international attention. It was beyond horrific to hear of the terrible inhumane treatment meted out by the demonized militia. I still shudder to think of the horrors of that persecution. To this day I could not bring myself to speak of the senseless and depraved things been done to our gentle and kind friends.
*** g76 8/8 p. 3 Malawi—What’s Happening There Now? ***
“Well-substantiated reports indicate that both in 1967 and in 1972 the Young Pioneers [the youth wing of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP)] and their supporters inflicted torture on the Jehovah’s Witnesses in the form of rape, beatings, shaving with broken bottles, and burning. In the autumn of 1972 these persecutions caused a number of deaths and the migration of some 21,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses to Zambia, where several hundred died in an inadequate refugee camp.”

Nice to have another "old guy" here.
I remember writing letters to government officials in Malawi.
I had just gotten out of the Army a couple of years before and baptized in 70.
Sorry to say that things never change and have only gotten worse. It seems that badness just moves around but it does prove that Satan doesn't have any new tricks up his sleeve.
I like to say that "the new system is no longer just around the corner, it's across the street" Hang in there! We'll be home in a minute.
