The Final Hours of Jesus' Life filmed 110 years ago.

The Photo Drama of Creation was filmed in 1914 and contains the Passover celebration, the capture, trial, sentence and execution of Jesus.

The ancient films from the Drama have been preserved and restored as much as possible.  Brother George Couch from Bethel, used the films when he visited many congregations and narrated and explained many of the little known work that went into the it's creation.

This 17 minute clip has been extracted from that presentation.

Yes, its a remarkable film. we have it on a disk along with the slides of the Photodrama. Our technology then, as now, was first class!

From today's perspective, it is of course very "odd" to see how Jesus and his apostles were portrayed back then, that a cross is actually shown instead of a stake, etc. but the photodrama of creation was simply REVOLUTIONARY in its time and I have often wondered what it must have been like to watch it. Thank you for giving me this opportunity over 100 years later. 

 

P.S. Is this really a woman playing the role of the angel in the Garden of Gethsemane?
