  1. Are you in America? In the Uk there’s already a lot of beards. But in some areas elders have them and in others it’s frowned upon, so it’s wonderful to have this clarification so we can be unified
  2. We got our kids a Switch a couple of weeks ago, and the animal crossing game....I’ve got hooked and spend as much time playing it as them 🤪 For the PS4 we have Mine craft (which can be played in peaceful mode), CTR (racing game) the Lego games And then some that have been downloaded like Fall guys.
  3. I its very cute! Has it been left there by it’s parents?
  4. Check out my New York mug bought from a major supermarket in the UK today!
  5. We've done a quiz via zoom. One person is the quiz master and reads the questions.
  6. Good job! It must have taken ages. The flowers are beautiful
  7. Ha sorry, I searched ikeA to seeing anyone else had posted and nothing came up.
  8. Not sure haven't seen the full news item... From this clip I think it's probably just drama surrounding local elections
  9. I was just sent this video clip, watch to the end. Hopefully this is the right place to post something like this! VID-20190508-WA0004.mp4

    Me!!

My mum always made all our clothes and knitted (I think more out of necessity than choice) she tried to teach me to knit as s child, but I couldn't get it. I eventually learnt from a book when I was nearly 30. I can now crochet a bit too, I'm very much a newbie though. I really want to sew. My husband bought me a sewing machine a few years ago and I've still not really got round to making anything. I like the idea of upcycling and reusing. I fell in love with the print on some curtains in the charity shop this week, so I've brought them with the intention of making a skirt it dress. Watch this space! 😀
  11. Has anyone tried this? I was inspired after seeing a gorgeous piece of art made via needle felting. I've ordered a book to try and teach myself. And I'm currently doing a little kit to make some llamas. It's strangely therapeutic repeatedly stabbing something with a needle. I think this would be a good activity for when you've had a bad day 🤪🤣 The llamas are little 3d things but I really want to make a flat picture.
  12. I'm Squiz on ravelry https://www.ravelry.com/people/squiz And langley_knits on Instagram
  13. Wow that looks complicated!!
  14. Bit of a weird one, but last night my husband for FW made me watch an interview Ben shapiro did with Stephen Meyer, he's written a book called the Darwin Doubt so it's basically some very intelligent arguements for why there has to be a creator. It was largely over my head... But then today on ministry I had a great chat with a man, who was very scientific and I was able to use loads of the points from the interview! There is definitely a seed of doubt in this guy's head and at the end of the chat he said if he does come to the memorial he feels there's a chance he may come out a bit converted! 😄 The other FW thing we did, our boys are very much into the video game Minecraft, so my husband printed out pictures of Minecraft things, sheep, boat, sword etc and then the boys had to take it in turns to think of a Bible story involving that thing.
  15. Firstly, I'd say wait until Black Friday, last year it was crazy cheap. I am actually quite pleased with it. I use it solely for ministry/meetings. It's a nice size for my ministry bag. Plus the problem I mentioned in my old post about not being able to listen to the Bible has been resolved in an update. The battery life is poor, I may have a duff one? I have to make sure I switch it off after use otherwise it runs down really quickly when idle (well compared to our iPad it does) I don't really use it much for internet surfing but when I do it's fine, no slower than my phone. Overall, I do think its value for money.
  16. I was in North Yorkshire for a short break in the summer school holidays. We stayed near Whitby and we met 2 sisters and a brother who were doing cart ministry. They were all so lovely. Do you know where it is in North Yorkshire she wants to go to? It's a fairly big area. Maybe she could contact the coordinator of the local congregation and he could find someone suitable for her to correspond with?
  17. My brother recognised Bro Boyle's (the brother who worked in the art department) voice and realised it was from this He does the voice over (its not quite caleb and sophia 😉)
  18. Did you know there is a roku app you can download and then you can use your phone or tablet as the remote. Our roku remote never really worked so ive always used my phone. My parents use a roku stick. They are not tech savvie at all but they have been getting on fine with it. (My brother set it up for them mind you!) Its a much cheaper solution than a whole new TV especially if they dont need a new one. I got an Amazon fire stick for an older sister in my cong (it was cheaper than the roku) it works fine...but i would say its slightly more complicated to access the broadcast....its not complicated just the layout is not as obvious as it is with roku. She can never remember how to do it (and she is used to using her ipad etc)
  19. Yes, i think thats the best solution. The battery life on my phone is really bad these days, so it would be handy to have!
  20. Update: Well unless I'm being dense (highly plausible) I have discovered a downside to the kindle fire. I just went to listen to the bible reading, and there is no option to do so there is no 'play' button amongst the icons. The battery life is also not particularly impressive, I used 25% at the meeting Sunday. Doesnt fill me with confidence for a full day at a convention That said, you get what you pay for, and its still great for the price!
  21. At our Aldi you have to move at the speed of light to keep up with the cashier! If you have bought lots they like you to just refill your trolley then move off somewhere else to pack it in to bags. I do my big weekly shop online and get it delivered, much easier (not from Aldi though, they dont do online shopping (yet))
  22. We don't have Walmart in the UK, but we have a supermarket called Asda which is owned by Walmart. They are one of the cheaper supermarkets, but Aldi is cheaper. i wonder if Aldi sells the same things everywhere in the world...I have certain things I like to go there for. They do the best nappies, happily my kids are done with them now though . Their fig rolls are also officially the best available. (Well in the informed opinion of our household anyway).
