In the Galaxy Tab 3 the keyboard has a key that is abc when in numbers mode and 123 when in letter mode. Can be either near top left or bottom left of screen keyboard. Not all keyboards look the same though. Depends upon app running.

Peter. I can see the 1 2 3 & the space bar as well as the return key.

when I press the 1 2 3 It goes to a small blank space for writing. I go back out same thing but there are no ABC or I can go to were the symbols are like * & % $ # @

but no abc, I try writting but it won't convent as I am writing. I must be missing something Or my patience is being tried, lols

Move your notifications dropdown box and see if there is an option to choose the input method. Click it and choose another keyboard (this must be while the keyboard is visible)

If not go to settings/language and input/keyboard and see if there are more keyboards to activate. Active them and make one of them the default

If you haven't more keyboards go to the play store and install a free one to test (I would recommend a paid one though: thumb keyboard or SwiftKey)

Maybe this link will help: http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/mobile-phone/mobile-phone/galaxy-note/SM-N9005ZWEXSA-support

You might want to try the live chat or other support options.

I like that there is a warning,,,, Be careful not to damage your fingernails when opening the back cover to the battery or SD card slot. lols

& thanks for the manual.

Thanks Musky I will check it out.

I didn't know when until I bought it home on the box it says 32GB..

Does that mean, that's how much data it will hold before I put an SD card?

Yes, you have 32 GB of "on-board" memory. Before an SD card is installed.
