Research Guide Won't Download

Anyone else having trouble downloading the PDF file to their iPad? I have attempted it 3 times and when it gets close to the finish, it exits out of the browser and takes me back to my iPad home screen. I tried shutting down my iPad and restarting it, but that didn't do anything -- not that I really thought it would. Any ideas?

Others have had problems downloading to tablets. Use a computer then transfer file over. Maybe it is just ipads - didn't look to see what others were using. If so get an android

My husband just told me that he got it to download on his iPad but that he had to try a number of times, so guess I will just keep trying. Thanks, though!

I loaded mine just fine found it worked best in iBooks ....,.very slick LOVE it!

It's a Hugh file and took me quit awhile .........

Check and see how much memory is on your ipad, you may need to delete some things.

I was able to download it to my Samsung Galaxy 2 and it is really great! Easy to use.

Didn't even think about checking the memory. I'll try it and will let you know if I have success.

Thanks to all for your suggestions. I checked the memory and I had LOTS. Shut down the iPad again, charged the battery, and tried again. Voilà! It worked! Looks awesome.

I have an iPad and just got the spinny thing when I tried. At the meeting for field service, a brother told me about, "I download", an app. I bought the pro, (thought I could use all the help I can get) three dollars well spent. Took me a few minutes to down load the file. Now I can download videos also. This information came from a young sister, perhaps ten years old. She worked and saved for a mini iPad. Now she can give the rest of us lessons!

So true -- I always say, "Ask any five year old" if you want an answer to a simple computer or phone question.

The Research Guide is over 60 MB in size because of the embedded hyperlinks. Except the pictures on the covers (both the outer and the inner covers) everything is vector graphics and text. so the actual content of the pages should not take up that much space. To confirm this, I flattened out the PDF by reprinting it to Adobe PDF. The new file was around 3 MB in size.

I tried twice and it 'seemed to fail'

I am on a wireless network with VERY good speed....

 

I left the iPad alone for 4-5 hours while doing something else and lo and behold it had completed

 

so be patient and expect to wait
