Pope says ISIS must be stopped. But how?

http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2014/08/18/pope-punts-on-american-airstrikes-in-iraq/

(CNN) – Nearly everyone agrees that the militant Muslim group marauding through northern Iraq must be stopped. The question is, how?

Asked if he approved of the American airstrikes against ISIS, Pope Francis withheld his moral imprimatur on Monday, refusing to fully support or denounce the military campaign.

"I can only say this: It is licit to stop the unjust aggressor," the pontiff said during a press conference on the plane back to Rome from South Korea. "I underline the verb: stop. I do not say bomb, make war, I say stop by some means."

In an apparent reference to the United States, Francis said "one nation alone cannot judge" the best means of stopping groups like ISIS, which calls itself the Islamic State.

Those decisions should be made collectively by the United Nations, the pontiff said.

"It is there that this should be discussed. Is there an unjust aggressor? It would seem there is. How do we stop him?" the Pope asked, without answering his own question.

Wow, nice find Brando! Interesting article, especially the part about how the Pope abhors violence and war (since when?!!!! The are always there to bless the troops!) Another thing I found interesting is that the Vatican has a UN Ambassador, for some reason I didn't realize that. Wonder if he will be in on the decision the UN makes to get rid of all religion?!! haha!

Don't live for the moment - live for the future! :D

Vatican City/Holy See is an independent county (the smallest in the world, I believe).  As such, it has ambassadors in many countries around the world and the UN.  It has never requested actual membership in the UN, but has "permanent observer" status there.

Great, they'll have a front row seat when the UN takes them out of commission for GOOD!

the real reason the Vatican is pushing for action against isis:

"When the group’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, declared the Islamic State a “caliphate” on the first day of Ramadan, June 29, he said, “Rush, O Muslims, to your state. Yes, it is your state. Rush, because Syria is not for the Syrians and Iraq is not for the Iraqis. … The land is for the Muslims, all the Muslims. … This is my advice to you. If you hold to it you will conquer Rome and own the world, if Allah wills.”

Such braggadocio is sure to have gained the Vatican’s attention. “Rome” is a code word for the Vatican and the Catholic religion. So we should expect the Vatican to continue to marshal its considerable political power and influence against the Islamic State and radical Islamic terror."

What a hooker.. when she feels threatened, she has no problem w war.
