Well a lot of leaders are recognising that there is a problem with " some ideology" in religion .... What is next step you think ?

Thanks for posting this article ...

What????

“We should closely examine the situation in which we are in. It does not make sense that the thought we sanctify pushes this entire nation to become a source of apprehension, danger, murder and destruction in the entire world,” Sisi said in a Thursday speech before Egypt’s top religious leaders on the occasion of the Birth of Prophet Mohamed.

“I am not saying the religion [itself]. I am saying this thought that has been sanctified; texts and thoughts that have been sanctified for hundreds of years. And disagreeing with [these texts and thoughts] has become very difficult. To the extent that [this thought] makes an enemy of the whole world,” Sisi added.

“You cannot feel what [this thought] is when you are inside it. You have to get out of it, inspect it, and read it with a real enlightened thought. You need to take a strong stance. I am reiterating, we need a religious revolution,” Sisi said in his speech, prompting Al-Azhar scholars to applaud.

I think those leaders have problem answering this question .right now ... At least until Jehovah puts it in the heart to "make real change and revolution"

No government initiative or improvement will work .. We know final outcome of false religion ... The interesting part is that we have arrived in the timeline when leaders are spotlighting religion ...

So what you are saying is - he really didn't say anything? How is that "revolutionary " or even "interesting "?

I am clearly missing something. :nope:

No you are not missing anything ... He talks about revolution without giving examples .. Governments are in a very confused state right now .. They don't understand how Satan is pulling the strings but feel that something is wrong .. They don't know what to do but they Want big change or revolution .. Does this make sense ..? ( this is how I understand his statement )

I think don't read too much into his statement but rather see how they feel about religion in our days

Since he says, don't change the religion "change the thought" does that mean he likes religion?

I think he means ideology of religion ... such as ISIS is not acceptable to him  (who knows what is in his head ?)

He is afraid of ISIS expanding into Egypt. see article below if you wish.

Thanks for explaining.

I think Israel is concerned about ISIS also. I am not sure that qualifies as a "revolution" or not, but I did see an article some where recently about it.

Egypt is an Islamic nation, Israel is not. Egypt suffered a political revolution 4 years ago this month as part of the "Arab Spring."  For an Islamic nation to resist the radical Islamic hard-line ISIS (which may have a lot of supporters), it might take a religious revolution.

Israel, on the other hand, does not have a nation-wide pro Islamic stance.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

This is very interesting how the nations are in agreement on fighting these radical violent religions. The "thought" is something that was spoken of numerous times in the UN meeting with world leaders agreed to fight together but they used the term "ideology" instead of thought. They were speaking of any religion that was using violence towards others. Even though this is not "the" attack on false religion it sure is interesting how all these nations are bonding together to attack one religious group.

Egypt's President Calls For A 'Revolution' In Islam

CAIRO (AP) — Egypt's president opened the new year with a dramatic call for a "revolution" in Islam to reform interpretations of the faith entrenched for hundreds of years, which he said have made the Muslim world a source of "destruction" and pitted it against the rest of the world.  The speech was Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi's boldest effort yet to position himself as a modernizer of Islam. His professed goal is to purge the religion of extremist ideas of intolerance and violence that fuel groups like al-Qaida and the Islamic State — and that appear to have motivated Wednesday's attack in Paris on a French satirical newspaper that killed 12 people.  But those looking for the "Muslim Martin Luther" bringing a radical Reformation of Islam may be overreaching — and making a false comparison to begin with. El-Sissi is clearly seeking to impose change through the state, using government religious institutions like the 1,000-year-old al-Azhar, one of the most eminent centers of Sunni Muslim thought and teaching.
