Violent riots broke out today over a posh new EU building opening. The majority feel the money used for the facility was too high and could have gone to other more important needs. They stated that this was the worst violent outbreak in Germany's history. Causing closing a of businesses such as mail, and schools.

I went looking for this story this morning and didn't see it in any of the headlines in the US either. Once I searched for it - I found it.

It seems the Tunisia attack really overshadowed this news. I am sure the Central Bank that was demonstrated against was happy to see that its news got buried (NOT that I think they would be happy about the attack).

I always said if you want to know what's going on in your own country, look at the news from other countries! lol

You are very right, Natasha.

Some months ago I was traveling abroad and saw in the news a plane had been blocked in Madrid's airport because one of the passengers seemed to have ebola. They took all the passengers to the hospital and had them isolated for several days until ebola was discarded. But I found no trace of that news in any Spanish newspaper, and my family here didn't hear anything.

We think we are well informed because we read the newspapers or watch tv bulletins, but they actually only report what they are allowed to report. And this in democratic countries where there is supposedly freedom of press and of expression. I don't want to think what they report in non democratic lands.
