Mick Fanning, and another Australian surfer Julian Wilson were in the water when a huge shark attacked Mick Fanning's board, severing his leg rope.  Thankfully, no one was injured and the pair were plucked to safety.  But what a scare!  The video footage is scary to watch.  Surfing is great - in the new system!

From the news report after that video it talks about several people being attacked by sharks. They say they think it is due to the drought conditions that the sharks on coming in closer to the shores to hunt.

I counted at least 5 shark attacks in North Carolina in the past month.

Very scary.

The ocean is the sharks home.  When humans enter the sharks home, sadly there will be attacks.

It will be wonderful when we can swim in the ocean peacefully with the sharks.

Is a surfing competition like a shark buffet?

:o

I reckon so now.  How many deep sea fishing shows, show the trawlers pulling out bucklets loads of fish & mix seafood. Not to mention a John West clip I saw them throwing bag loads of unwanted Marlin & Mixed fish but dead. Then you have The coastwatch shows that show people catching illegal amounts getting caught & their catch is waisted..

So why not be on the Menu. ;)

I visited the Sydney Aquariam a few yrs back they showed a Map similar to this one & they can track sharks patten between far north Queensland to Africa its eye opening I found.
