Jimmy Hoffa

For those old enough to remember Jimmy Hoffa, this article is interesting, however, the only reason I posted it is because I found this paragraph amusing..

 

Hoffa was declared legally dead in 1982. It is believed that the politically connected Hoffa was whacked by the Mafia because he refused to back off from trying to regain the presidency of the powerful Teamsters union.

The news article sounds like a bad movie...

 

Yea, Jimmy was whacked. Da boss said to can him, so's we did. He ain't swimming with the fishes, we whacked him and puts him with the rest of da trash..

Our family's log cabin was right next door to a home Jimmy Hoffa built in Beechwood, Michigan.

I became best friends with the daughter of the family that was renting/caretaking the place.

We played for hours in these antique cars that were stored in these old barns on the property.

And a guest house out back was our playhouse.

 

The antique cars had rumble seats.  We imagined we were driving to New York or Detroit or 

Chicago.  I can still close my eyes and see the dashboards of those old automobiles. ^_^   

Great fun and fond memories!  :D
