Defending Your Life

Have any of the rest of you seen this movie? It is a CRACK UP!!!

It has Albert Brooks and Meryl Streep.

Albert is killed in a car accident and wakes up in "Judgment City". They replay portions of his life and he has an attorney and there is a judge and a "prosecuting" attorney. He has to defend his actions and state why he did various things. Depending on "the judgement" -he either has to go back (reincarnated) OR he gets to "move on".

Can you imagine??? Its great!!

I love it when they go to the "Past Lives Pavilion" and they get to look at who they were in previous lives  :lol1:

Rip Torn was his attorney - called Bob Diamond. I loved this:

From Defending Your Life (1991)
Bob Diamond: There was one person you were really cheap with. Over and over again. I wish you'd been more generous with him.
Daniel Miller: Who?
Bob Diamond: You.

Daniel: "Is this heaven?"

Bob: "No.  This is not heaven."

Daniel:  "Is this hell?"

Bob: "Actually, there is no hell.  Although, I hear Los Angeles is getting pretty close."
