Thanks for the link Alexa,  that shows a history of recent quakes in that area, sort of leading up to this big one..

A 6.3 just struck the Philippines, near Tamisan. (6:53 pm Eastern time).  It was 40 miles deep, so there probably won't be a tsunami.  Hope our brothers and sisters were not too rattled by it.

One hour ago, a 6.9 struck Ndoi Island, Fiji.

Two hours ago, a 6.4 struck Neiafu, Tonga.12 

Twelve hours ago, 2 5.6  quakes struck Jayapura, Indonesia.

Nineteen hours ago, a 5.8 quake hit  177km SE of L'Esperance Rock, New Zealand.

With the two 6.0+ listed above, there's been a whole lot a' shakin' goin' on...in just the past 48 hours.
