"You Did It For Me"

You know what I've been groovin' to this weekend? Song #146, "You Did It For Me" -- we sang it at our last CLAM Meeting.

I've listened to it tons of times since it was released and mumbled along to the words in the car. But I never actually *read* the words 'til we sang it Thursday night.

Wow. Just... wow. It's a beautiful poem expressly for the Other Sheep. It's so moving and humbling to realize that Jesus actually recognizes a DEBT to be paid.... to US!!!  Such honor and respect shown to his human followers... because we support his brothers.  <3

Phrases in this song touch me so unexpectedly. The second half of the second verse... the King actually addressing us! The second half of the third verse... "The King will then say to the sheep on his right, 'inherit the earth and perfection of life'"... :'(  <3

Actually, this would be a great topic of discussion if some are amenable to the idea.  If it's ok with our sister, I'd like to ask you all: Which of the new 19 songs that were released within the last year or so are your favorite (i.e. not just to listen to but which one(s) have "touched your heart" as you'll listening or have moved you to a certain point?

 

I have a favorite but I'll share mine after reading others.

Wonderful expressions Sister Uani, how our Father must have enjoyed seeing you write down just how you you were so moved by 1 of the songs written by "His Sons" in order to help us in appreciating the incredible generosity of our Jehovah and Jesus!

This is a wonderful song. One of my favorite of this new group of songs. 

 

My favorite part it's this one: "The love that you showed me up I won't forget. I will recompense you with everlasting life." (one part of the chorus in Portuguese) My eyes shine in this verse!

 

Anyway, my "most favorite" is "Light in a Darkened World". The melody here is so epic!

Yes - I love the lyrics of #146.

 

But for melody, #143 and #151 are most attractive to me.  I like songs in minor keys - they sound so powerful to me!

I also really like song 146. When we sang it at the meeting, I really felt it was for us. Beautiful feeling.

But somehow I like the Dutch lyrics more than the English one.. ( most of the time it's the opposite haha..)
