How Adorable is THIS?! Bear Cubs Stop Traffic at Yosemite National Park (California)

Recommended Posts

People really are that stupid, too. In Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming each year tourists are killed (gored sometimes) by the herds of bison which wander close to the road that runs through the park. The "Looky Loos" get right out of their vehicles despite posted warning signs just to get a Kodak moment and be close to the beasts of the field. Better be careful or you'll get what you ask for.

I thought for sure someone was going to get out of their car and try to pet one. I'm glad intelligent heads prevailed as it could have gotten ugly.

Yeah that's what I was thinking... they may have been cute as puppies but if the mother had though they were in danger anyone out of their car would have been chopped liver. All I could think was "come up you bald head, come up you bald head"...lol... bet those boys shouting at Elisha woudln't have notice if they'd have startled two little bearcubs playing...

Still they were so cute, playing in the middle of the road like that.

I can't wait for the new system ;)
Neither can I. I sat through the cold winter when the snow blocked us in watching Lily and Hope North American Black bears on a BBC documentary and in their hibernation den on the www.bearstudy.org webcam. Dr Rogers knew how to communicate with them safely and they were very trusting with him. We saw Lily give birth to 2 cubs (Faith and Jason) in the den and her cub from last year, Hope, helped her with them in the hibernation den. One cub - Jason - died and we were sad, and now it looks as if the Internationally famous bearcub, Hope has been shot by a hunter. Thousands of comments of condolence are coming into the Research center and Facebook site. They cannot get protection from hunters shooting the Research bears. They try to indicate Research bears by putting ribbons on the radio collars of the chosen bears hoping that hunters recognize this and do not shoot them, but they lost 2 last year and it seems Hope is now gone. Bears have lots to teach us about their way of forest living.Their unusual hibernation patterns are being studied as being useful to human medicine. New system - bring it on!
