Christian jukebox (good clean music to listen to)

Chicago Transit Authority as they were first known releases a double record (76 minutes long) double album on April 28th, 1969. This is Terry Kath on lead guitar. He was just barely 23 when this was released. He died by an accidental gunshot in 1978 at age 31, two months after I saw Chicago in concert in Seattle, Washington. Chicago was not the soft pop bubble gum band during this time that they became in the 80s. They

Many people still enjoy the music of Chicago after Kath's death, including my older brother. To me they lost their soul and heart when Kath died. That hard driving sound became more pop, leaving the rock, jazz and blues element.

If you only know Chicago from the 80's listen to their first 3 albums. They had to change their name to  just Chicago after getting sued by the Transit Authority of Chicago.

roller rink to this song in 1969.

The video is unavailable in my region. Could you give the name of the song and the singer?

It is always good to list the details for the song. It would make it easier to search for it, later on.

Oh, I'm quite familiar with this song. Just didn't know the singer. In 1969 I was 15 years old.

Brother George Benson just released this song about an hour ago on Youtube! One of my favorite songs sung by one of my favorite singers!  He sounds great for 81! George Benson singing "A Song For You" written by Leon Russell. Ray Charles also recorded this song in 1993 which he would win a Grammy Award.

From 1980 REO Speedwagon went from a hard rock style to more of a pop rock sound.  "In Your Letter" by REO Speedwagon reached #20 in the billboard charts. This was the days of 45rpm records so on the b side of the 45 it had "Shakin it Loose" a very high tempo song with lots of energy compared to the sugary sweet sound of In Your Letter. Oh how I miss 45rpm records with those b sides!

Thank you so much for posting this, Ross! Here in Germany, the only association we make with John Denver is "Country Roads", but this song is beautiful 😘

I got to see John Denver in Seattle in concert during his 1979 tour which featured him singing Johnny B. Goode!

A group that is well know for love songs and broken hearts. Bread had great vocals and harmonies. They could also play more uptempo songs too. This is one of my favorites from 1972 "Down On My Knees" from the album "Baby I'm-a Want You" which also featured hits, Diary, Everything I Own (one of the best endings to a song), Baby I'm-a Want you.

This is a remake of the classic rocker from 1975. Only one original member is still with the group that tours as Head East, that being keyboardist Roger Boyd. I like both versions. I got to see the old Head East lineup that featured most of  the original members when they opened up for Heart in Seattle on New Years Eve, 1979.

All I can say is more cowbell! I will post both studio version which was recorded 2023 and the other from 1974. I used to be a band photographer and many bands that did cover songs featured this song in the 70s and 80s.

This song by Gene Clark of the Byrds is hard to find. It was never released to the public. The song is called "Straight from the Heart." It's a great song. He wrote or co-wrote many Byrd classic songs. This video starts at the 58 minute mark. I suggest listening to all the songs on it!
